We are looking for a Copywriter to join the MyFitnessPal team. At MyFitnessPal, we believe fitness starts with what you eat. We provide the tools and resources to reach your health goals. This storyteller will create work that will empower every person to engage with our community and encourage them throughout their health and fitness journeys. The ideal candidate will be obsessed with attitude, authenticity, and all things app and web. They will be driven and ambitious. The preferred candidate has experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing a diverse workload, and championing the importance of quality copy within all phases of the creative process. It doesn’t hurt if you are passionate about health and fitness. This is a great opportunity to be an integral part of the MyFitnessPal team, building the latest in digital health and fitness products.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop powerful product stories around MyFitnessPal apps, web, technologies, and ensure consistency with the overall MyFitnessPal brand story and voice
  • Write and edit copy supporting all MyFitnessPal activities with a focus on content that compels an audience to take action and is original in the marketplace.
  • Review work to ensure it aligns with tone, style, brand guidelines, and voice.
  • Work within the design team, while partnering with product owners, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate in the exploration of innovative product ideas while refining the existing experience.
  • Socialize and present design solutions and rationale to team and key stakeholders.
  • Follow and share industry best practices / have awareness of emerging trends and technologies and how they impact solutions.
  • Assist with user research and competitive analysis.
  • Translating complex technical topics into approachable content for all audiences.

Qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • 3-5 years of experience in digital product copy.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to solve problems, even when they are not fully defined.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate the interactions between language and design elements to construct a compelling narrative throughout the user journey.
  • Energetic personality with a go-getter mentality.
  • You thrive on teamwork and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, while maintaining an extremely strong sense of responsibility and commitment to teamwork.
  • Proven creative ability.
  • Eager to solicit feedback from real users and teammates.
  • Writing, curating, and editing content for accuracy, clarity, and usability.
  • Mastery of short-form and long-form written communication.
  • Adhering to and developing style and identity guidelines.
  • Defining content goals and journeys based on user or customer goals.
  • Experience working within diverse, dynamic, cross-functional teams.
  • Eager to solicit feedback from real users and teammates.
  • Ability to listen and understand feedback from clients and internal critiques.
  • High ability to multi-task and deliver high-quality output every time, on time.

What can really set you apart:

  • Degree in Writing, English, Journalism, Communication, Information Design or related.
  • Foundational understanding of UX design and design research.
  • Able to understand the conceptual basis of a brand and how it should inform content.
  • Familiarity with content-to-developer handoff.
  • Considerate of file etiquette in a shared environment.
