What Is Employee Growth Rate & Why Is It Important?

Meta is looking for an experienced attorney to join the Privacy Legal team to advise on commercial products. You will serve as a privacy subject matter expert, working closely with Product Counsel on a broad scope of initiatives. Working with regional counsel, you will bring the global privacy legal perspective to Meta’s advertising and commercial projects. The ideal candidate for this role is a privacy enthusiast who understands commercial products such as Workplace and Business Messaging and who is passionate about the service Meta provides and the people we serve. You have a bias for working proactively and collaboration. You can easily shift between the details and the bigger picture as needed.

Counsel, Privacy (Business Entities & Messaging) Responsibilities:

  • Maintain subject matter expertise in privacy and data protection requirements, including US state and federal laws, the GDPR, and other global privacy laws
  • Work with Product Counsel to evaluate the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and other privacy developments on Meta’s commercial products
  • Drive high-impact projects working cross-functionally with stakeholders in Legal, Policy, Product and other teams

Minimum Qualifications:

  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
  • 3+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience
  • Experience in one of the following areas: Litigation, regulatory, privacy, or product counseling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with global privacy legal requirements relating to social media, digital advertising, or other technologies
  • Experience with managing legal risk across multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience of advancing simultaneous projects in a multi-stakeholder environment
  • Experience of collaborating at all levels of the business including executive and C-suite
