The mission:
Customer Success Engineers are a part of the Professional Services team – you will be responsible for making our most strategic customers successful, leading short to medium term engagements at the client location. You will focus on getting the product up and running, conducting architecture and use case reviews, sizing & tuning StreamSets products. This team solves real world problems related to data ingestion, data drift and data movement.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for retaining revenue through renewals for a portfolio of customers
- Responsible for driving account expansion for a given portfolio for customers
- Proactively driving and managing all technical aspects of the post-sales process, working in conjunction with the customer success and pre-sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products
- Performing introductory calls, Quick Start programs, and early education with new customers, allowing for rapid success of initial projects
- Performing Customer Consultations and solution design with customers especially around new products or options
- Maintaining regular contact with assigned customers to drive long-term customer success and value through implementation of the StreamSets Customer Journey Map
- Working with Customer Support team to prioritize and track progress on technical issues.
- Preparing and recommending best practices based on understanding the customer’s business, use cases, and success criteria
- Frequent communication with the sales team to ensure alignment of renewals and upsell/cross objectives

- The ability to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users
- The ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers
- A background in the data space.
- Technical skills and aptitude with a background in technical sales engineering, implementation, or technical support.
- Experience in working with partners and collaborating with them to ensure customer success
- An understanding and appreciation of the data integration space is a plus
- Strong Linux experience
- Data industry experience, with a focus on Big Data, analytics applications, ETL, and Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, Google)
- Foundational knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem
- Experience / working knowledge of JDBC / ODBC APIs
- Experience programming/scripting with Java, Perl, Python, Unix Shell scripts
- Experience with Kafka and Spark
