What makes this team special?
The mission of the Analytics team at User Interviews is to own all of the company’s data and to analyze it in ways that help us make better decisions. We work with every team, including Product, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and executives, across diverse data sets. As a Data Engineer, you’ll work closely with the Data Science team to build the infrastructure that powers analytics across the company. You will be the first Data Engineer at User Interviews, with the opportunity to help shape how data gets used here.
Responsibilities
-Help build a scalable, configurable, automated data infrastructure across multiple applications
-Evaluate our current architecture and determine where to go next
-Coordinate with Data Scientists and other stakeholders to design tables used for reporting and analysis
-Leverage dbt to build and maintain these tables through easy-to-read pipelines
-Own data ingestion through Fivetran
-Partner with other engineers to ensure access to all data of interest
-Have a self-starter mentality and stay up to date with the latest data technologies
-Play a leadership role in building a data-driven company culture. How can we meet our goal of getting every teammate the right data when they need it?
Qualifications
Minimum:
-2+ Years working as a Data Engineer (or a similar role), preferably at a software company
-Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Github
-Experience building and transforming large, complex datasets and working in data warehouses
-Knowledge of data modeling systems (e.g. Star Schema)
-Authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred:
-Familiarity with dbt, Mode Analytics, and Fivetran
-Knowledge of AWS products, including Redshift
-Experience with machine learning
