Job summary
Prime Video is changing the way millions of customers interact with video content. Our team delivers high-quality video to Amazon customers through subscriptions (Amazon Prime) as well as purchases and rentals.

We are looking for talented data engineer to help us build Prime Video next-gen Data Platform to power all off-line and online data applications. Do you want to both help us change the way we serve recommendations to customers and simulatneously accelerate the development of cutting-edge ML models that understand what customers will want to watch. This position can be primarily virtual but must be attached to an existing Prime Video office:
• Seattle, Washington
• Culver City, California
• Arlington, Virginia
• Austin, Texas
• New York, New York

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience in SQL

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline
  • 3+ years relevant professional experience in Data Engineering and Business Intelligence
  • 2+ year of coding experience with programming or scripting language (Python, Scala, Java, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures, data modeling and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles.
  • Database design and administration experience with various RDBMS, such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.
  • Advanced data analysis skills
  • Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams.
  • Experience using any big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Spark, etc.)
  • Experience with AWS services including Redshift, RDS, S3, Glue, Athena etc.
  • Experience building data products incrementally and integrating and managing datasets from multiple sources.
  • Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers for best practices on data engineering
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations
