The Product Team

Arity’s product team brings our strategy to life by distilling the needs of our customers and the possibilities of our assets into a roadmap and concise objectives that create and improve our products so that our customers see measurable improvements in their business. We do this by working with our colleagues and customers to understand the needs of the market and how solving those needs adds new value to our products for our customers. We then balance the competing needs of our tactical and strategic imperatives to create roadmaps that maximize measurable value in the near future. Our work cuts across every stakeholder in our business from customers to engineering to design to compliance to legal and to marketing. (Not always in that order.) We look for new team members who can collaborate as effectively with engineers as they can with lawyers; who can pitch a customer in a few minutes and deep dive with developers for an hour on the same feature. The Role

The Director, Product Management, Insurance Solutions leads a team of product managers to define and implement our strategic vision for next-generation pricing and telematics products for customers operating in the personal auto insurance market. Arity’s products enable customers to define and launch new, mobile-native programs quickly and to easily integrate Arity’s unique scoring algorithms at point of sale. Success in this role is defined by the leader coaching and hiring a team of product managers, building a strategic roadmap based on KPIs and market feedback, and executing our product development plans.

The right leader for this role brings demonstrated experience in building technical B2B and B2B2C products for the financial services market. The leader will also bring experience in coaching and developing product managers at multiple levels to grow their team of PMs into a high-performing, metrics-driven team.

Responsibilities

Product Development

  • Manage a team of Product Managers to execute development of new features, models, and products aligned to our strategic vision and priorities.
  • Refine our long-term strategy for Point of Sale and Telematics products based on market feedback and indications from KPI.
  • Build roadmap for our next generation of insurance scoring products and new model features.
  • Enhance our B2B2C services in mobile to drive ever higher adoption and engagement rates.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success across our account base to build strategic relationships with key decision makers at our customers.
  • Partner with key leads in Engineering, Design, and Data Science to plan team structures, key deliverables and timelines, and overall success criteria for product line.
  • Work with finance to build out business model and annual financial plan based on strategy and customer targets.
  • Collaborate with sales and business development to define key targets for sales and distribution.
  • Collaborate with marketing on defining go to market strategy, collateral, and training materials.

  • Develops solutions, alternatives, and guidance in diverse and complex situations
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on insurance market issues with other Directors and management team.
  • Provides insights and perspective on key market, technology, and competitive trends that will impact current and future Arity
  • Presents business cases and collaborates with peers on overall market opportunities for Arity as a whole.
  • Communicates technical Arity concepts to non-technical audiences

Fosters Improvements

  • Anticipates needs of the organization and leads efforts for continuous improvements within Arity
  • Develops and implements ideas that have long term broad organizational impacts

  • Leads a team of highly skilled individual contributors with deep subject matter expertise in Arity technology. Defines goals and metrics for success for each individual. Coaches team on tactical, strategic, and organizational success.
  • Develops the staff’s ability to provide written and oral communication of highly specialized terms and data to less technical people
  • Interprets broad goals and objectives into departmental priorities and activities
  • Actively develops internal succession pipeline for department
  • Promotes, fosters and influences actions, careers, environment of employees

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of product development experience and innovation leadership experience.
  • Experience building and managing products for the insurance or other financial services industry.
  • Experience in mobile application or technology development, particularly offerings for apps that target consumers directly.
  • Experience building and leading a team of product managers.
  • Demonstrated success defining a market, success criteria, and products in market to meet strategic objectives.
  • Experience building and delivering against financial plan for product segment.
