About the Job
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our machine learning teams. You will work directly with the CTO to continue building a world-class machine learning team working on the most challenging and impactful problems that machine learning can revolutionize. Machine learning engineering management spans relevance, ranking, intent, understanding, and collaborating cross-functionally to establish premier ML operations and build the heart of the technology that powers

You may be a fit for this role if several of these statements resonate with you (no worries – not all need to resonate):

    • You have experience designing, implementing, running, and maintaining production machine learning code at the scale of a large consumer or enterprise company.
    • You have experience developing industry-leading index/search systems with low latency and high throughput
    • Experience building ranking systems and familiarity with industry-standard ranking metrics
    • Experience with search systems such as ElasticSearch, Solr, or Lucene
    • Experience with embedding-based methods and services like Pinecone, Weaviate, and Vespa
    • You understand the importance of reliable monitoring, deployment strategies, and a highly scalable and robust cloud infrastructure
    • You have a knack for training and tuning neural systems and non-neural systems to get the best of both
    • Familiarity with major deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch
    • Experience with common NLP frameworks such as HuggingFace and NLP tasks such as slot-filling, relation extraction, intent classification, question answering, and summarization
    • You have experience designing, building, and running engineering teams that have focused on the previous bullet points.
    • You can quickly iterate with engineering teams closer to user-facing product as well as product teams themselves as part of a tight user-validated feedback loop.
    • You have experience with best practices and patterns that allow the most skilled engineering teams to communicate effectively and deliver quickly and regularly.
    • You are electrified by the possibilities and challenges of rapidly shipping and iterating on machine learning models and pipelines
