Maple is a crypto startup approaching launch and the operational requirements for the core team are about to scale significantly. The Head of Capital Markets role calls for a self-starter who wants talented individuals to buy into a shared mission to build the future. The successful candidate will likely have 5+ years experience in previous front-office roles in trading, investments, capital markets advisory or institutional business development in which they demonstrated a capacity for generating deal-flow and strong relationships.
The Head of Capital Markets will play an integral role in helping Maple to grow by establishing new partnerships which bring lending capital, blue chip borrowers and new fund managers to our platform. In this role you will be required to explore for opportunities, sell our vision, and represent our trusted institutional brand.
Develop and leverage personal network of capital markets contacts to add new clients as borrowers and lenders on Maple’s platform.
Manage ongoing relationships to reduce churn and identify opportunities for growth.
Be a subject matter expert on the needs of our users and how they can be addressed by Maple’s institutional term lending product and decentralized yield opportunities.
Prospect among market makers, crypto miners, exchanges, lenders, trading funds and other protocols to identify new clients. Educate and onboard traditional funds with a view to onboarding them as liquidity providers.
Drive partnership conversations at the executive and leadership team levels of companies.
Assess the competitive landscape and stay across threats and opportunities and be able to communicate Maple’s unique market position.
Provide insight to the Product teams gathered from client interactions.
Develop and maintain a network of prospects that will enable a strong, consistent pipeline for conversion into sales.;
Develop proposals that address clients’ needs, concerns and objectives; Manage the sales pipeline efficiently and effectively;
Own the sales process to ensure the best customer experience and response;
Meet quarterly, and annual volume targets, aligned with the company’s objectives;
Work with leadership to implement best practice, and create strategies for sales improvement based on market research and/or competitor analysis.
Prepare a growth strategy for Maple’s institutional term loan product;
Must have requirements
Experience in capital markets, institutional sales, relationship management or fundraising space.
Venture, trading, financial services or fin-tech company experience.
Passion for digital assets and future prospects of cryptocurrencies globally
Established network of professional relationships with funds, family offices, financial institutions and traders in key global financial centers
Strong knowledge of financial product investments, or HFT.
Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements for different investor groups and consequences for tailoring product offering
A high standard of English, both verbal and written
Practised at presenting pitches related to investment, M&A, equities, fixed income etc
Creativity and flexibility when exploring opportunities and prospecting, paired with an independent style of working and entrepreneurial mindset
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships easily and with authenticity
