About the role

As a full-time, strategic, and technical Manager of Front End Development-Email you will join like-minded individuals who share a talent for transforming compelling business strategies into engaging customer experiences. Your primary responsibility will be supporting the efforts of our CRM team in the digital realm.

This role is highly collaborative and provides cross-functional experience with Marketing, Engineering, Algorithms, vendors, and more. It will offer you ample opportunities to employ your strong communication skills, refine your ability to work well in a self-directed and fast-paced environment, and make a difference with your unique blend of solid design fundamentals, deep understanding of email (incl. templating), system platform architecture and mastery of server-side and client-side technology.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Support Email Development team and implementation of email marketing strategy: Manage vendor relationships, maintain tools library, stay abreast of email best practices, manage team roadmaps and feature requests within our CDP and other platforms
  • Act as technical liaison between CRM and Stitch Fix partners
  • Strategize and help develop new user facing features for Marketing owned digital properties using the latest server-side and client-side technologies. Feature development will entail maintenance and expansion of proprietary email development platform, integration of client-side code with server-side APIs and web-based services, and 3rd party content management systems
  • Champion production quality front-end code with an eye toward performance, accessibility and scalability.
  • Support Email Development team to remove inhibitors of their strategic vision, while mentoring and helping the developers stay on track on their individual growth plans
  • Help ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Champion innovation and best-practices in development and workflow processes, and constantly introduce new ideas and stimulation to the team
  • Execute in a fast-paced and highly-fluid environment
  • Communicate technical concepts in ordinary language that can be understood by external partners from a range of technical backgrounds.
  • Establish and maintain end to end QA protocols. Familiarity with Litmus and or Email on Acid.

We’re excited about you because…

  • 2-3 years experience managing front-end development teams. Email development teams a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, email development preferred
  • Empathetic management style that removes barriers from team members
  • Maintains an organized, strategic, and task-oriented approach to problem solving
  • Knowledge of contemporary client-side technologies: HTML, CSS3, SCSS/SASS, Liquid or other Personalization Languages,web fonts, and, mobile first, responsive and outlook targeting design techniques
  • Familiarity with BEM ( Block Element Modifier ) CSS syntax
  • Understanding of email platform compatibility issues and their solutions
  • Familiarity with workflows for building modern web-applications: version control, pull-requests, shell scripting, and MVC frameworks; experience with Node.js, Handlebars.js, Grunt.js, Javascript, JSON, YAML, Git and Github a plus
  • Familiarity with “Lean Design” processes—rapid prototyping, iterative development, and continuous product deployment
  • Solid understanding of information design, visual hierarchy, page layout, and typography
  • Conversant with common design software: InDesign, Illustrator/Figma and Photoshop
  • Effective self- and time-management skills to balance fast-paced project schedules with ambitious goals
  • Experience working in fast-paced e-commerce environments preferred
