Job Description

As the standard bearer for Customer Success, Gainsight continues to invest in thought leadership to drive value for our clients. To that end, Gainsight’s project-based services offerings for clients and prospects interested in advancing their Customer Success implementation. In the first year since inception.

This role reports to the Senior Director of FPA and is a key member of the Finance team. The mission of our team is to enable strategic, executive, and Board-level, as well as tactical, decision making for the company through financial modeling, fact-based analyses, and interpretation of key business and financial trends. We are the analytical backbone of the company and provide strategic insights in planning the future growth and strategy of the company from a financial point of view while serving as the interface between Finance and the rest of business.

The Corporate FP&A and Systems position will be a critical member of the team responsible for managing annual planning, consolidating financials, and running Gainsight’s FP&A system, Adaptive Insights, to enable other team members to do their jobs accurately and efficiently.

What You’ll Do 

  • Help with the Company’s financial planning process, including annual budgeting
  • Manage the long-term financial plan for the Company, including consolidating data from different business units and team members
  • Create consolidated monthly close packages for executives, analyzing key trends and variances from Plan/forecast
  • Assist in preparation of Board presentations, investor reporting, industry/peer group benchmarking, and reviewing M&A opportunities
  • Help other members of the finance team with the building of budget and forecasting templates
  • Understand key business drivers and trends for functional departments and provide insights on improving efficiency
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
  • Improve Gainsight’s instance of Adaptive Insights, including building out templates and reporting in Office Connect

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years corporate finance experience at a leading technology company; SaaS experience preferred
  • Experience working with finance teams to make them more efficient through use of systems and processes
  • Experience owning financial systems, Adaptive Insights, or similar planning tools; experience with Salesforce, Intacct, or Netsuite is a plus
  • An understanding of corporate financial planning, modeling, and reporting
  • Ability to collaborate constructively with finance colleagues
  • Understanding of common metrics and cost drivers for SaaS companies
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven, and self-motivated
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
