We are seeking an exceptional public relations professional to be part of our rapidly growing
company. The Public Relations Lead will be responsible for creating, enhancing and maintaining a
favorable public image for our three signature brands: So Yummy, Blossom & Blusher.
Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this role will design and implement the strategy for highlighting key
messaging, strengthening brand awareness and relationship building with the media. Duties include
developing and writing press releases, pitching stories and crafting other opportunities to connect our
brands with various communication outlets. The successful candidate will have strong relationships
with journalists and other media contacts as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Partner with brand leaders to craft strategic plan for PR communications.
With the VP of Marketing, partner with leadership in identifying latest trends and visibility opportunities.
Continuous writing and pitching relevant stories to publications on new brand developments at First Media.
Responding to requests for information release from the media. Designating a spokesperson or source of information as necessary.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with media outlets and other communication sources.
Writing and updating organizational publications, including employee newsletters and updating Web content.
Bachelor degree in journalism, PR, marketing or related field.
5-7 years of experience required.
Ability to craft stories and releases that get interest and secure media coverage with traditional media.
Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills required.
Strong media and communication relationships necessary.
Ability to pitch to various media outlets.
Knowledge of consumer and brand marketing.
Understanding of social media and solid experience working with external partners.
Deadline-oriented, inquisitive, tenacious, with great follow-up and reporting skills.
Ability to run PR campaigns that deliver measurable results and meet brand objectives.
A creative and strategic thinker.
Project and budget management skills.
Able to juggle multiple tasks.
Responds well under pressure.
