Who is TextExpander?

We’re a growing team of over 40 individuals working remotely across 11 time zones and toward a common vision: a world where businesses and individuals can fully connect with others through efficient and personal communication.

The job:

As the Revenue Operations Manager for TextExpander, your day-to-day focus will be to develop and maintain the systems, processes, analytics, and reporting that enable the revenue-generating teams to continue to scale growth. You’ll play a key role in connecting our various systems like marketing automation, CRM, and backend databases to give us a clear view of our customers and ensure we can communicate with them at the right time to help them the most.

Additionally, you’ll develop processes to help the marketing and sales teams manage cross-department requests, facilitate project management, and operate in sync, transparently, and effectively.

The specifics:

Systems Management: You love building systems that provide consistent data, useful insights, and can be automated to drive key results.

You have experience:

  • Connecting the dots between marketing automation, CRM, and backend systems to ensure customer data flows effectively and Marketing, Sales, and Leadership are all seeing the same thing

  • Developing analytics structures to enable omnichannel attribution and show the effectiveness of different marketing channels, sales campaigns, and customer success activities

Process Development: You love building processes, not just for the sake of the process – but to allow the team to achieve more, reach customers with more meaningful interactions, and operate more efficiently.

You have experience:

  • Developing project management structures and processes to keep projects on task via tools like Trello and Asana

  • Implementing frameworks to make revenue operations more transparent

  • Researching and implementing new tools to support the marketing, sales, and customer support teams’ operating efficiency

Reporting: You love nothing better than digging into a spreadsheet of data and sorting through metrics to find key insights.

You have experience:

  • Analyzing channel effectiveness based on omnichannel attribution

  • Developing regular reporting methodologies to describe marketing and sales results, and illustrate the ROI of various marketing and sales activities

On any given day, you might…

  • Ensure that data flows correctly between various tools via Zapier or system integrations

  • Pull together and analyze large amounts of data across different tools to understand and improve the omnichannel customer acquisition process and the customer journey

  • Design, execute and manage optimization campaigns across websites, testing platforms, sales processes, Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), analytics tools, emails, and more

  • Dig into (and come up with answers for) questions like “Why did revenue spike in the week of January 4?”

  • Lead the fight against ‘Direct’ traffic. Ensure UTM codes are implemented across all channels where necessary to provide increased visibility

  • Work with engineering to ensure our systems – specifically, Google Analytics, HubSpot, and Close CRM – accurately and usably reflect the data shown in our core backend systems

  • Track key metrics such as activities, funnel stages, pipeline, bookings, region and product-based analytics, deal sizes and close cycles.

  • Continuously monitor revenue metrics with a good understanding of KPIs and how they can be impacted.

  • Guide the business in understanding how marketing and sales spend and outcomes accurately drive impact and return on investment via accurate reporting & forecasting.

Job requirements

Needed for the job:

  • A mindset of testing, measuring, learning, and evolving

  • Expert-level understanding of Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager

  • Knowledge of HubSpot, Zapier, Close, and other CRM/Marketing tools (and how to effectively integrate them)

  • Love of Excel/Google Sheets

  • Understanding of Asana

  • High-level understanding of how data should flow and sync between systems – from Marketing Automation to CRM to our backend database. You won’t be writing database queries, but you will need to understand how each system can best talk to each other.

  • Attention to detail (an understanding that small changes in how we instrument the customer journey can have far-reaching downstream effects).

  • Love of process not for its own sake, but for the sake of driving results

  • Understanding of how to structure systems not just to record data, but make it actionable.

Preferred for the job:

  • 2+ years working remotely.

  • Google Analytics, HubSpot, or other relevant certifications
