The Senior Cloud Services Engineer enables cloud to provide optimal performance, continuity and efficiency in virtualized, on-demand environments. The Senior Cloud Services Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The Senior Cloud Services Engineer utilizes software that manages and monitors networks, systems and applications not only to guarantee performance to cloud software environments but also to better orchestrate and automate provisioning of resources.

Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position.

Responsibilities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

30-50% Cloud Services Monitoring and Support

• Work with architects to design cloud on-demand environments with optimal performance that meet operational and security needs
• Implement software to monitor and manage environments including networks, systems and applications to ensure best value delivered
• Work with architects to set up CI/CD pipelines to ensure properly managed , efficient, and secure integration and delivery of new end user software features
• Utilize both GUI and command line interfaces to efficiently orchestrate and provision resources
• Analyze proposed solutions and make recommendations to lead to more optimal designs being implemented

20-40% Cloud Services Design

• Work with architects to design cloud on-demand environments with optimal performance that that meet operational and security needs
• Implement software to monitor and manage environments including networks, systems and applications to ensure best value delivered
• Work with architects to set up CI/CD pipelines to ensure properly managed , efficient, and secure integration and delivery of new end user software features
• Utilize IaC and GUI tools to efficiently orchestrate and provision resources
• Analyze proposed solutions and make recommendations to lead to more optimal designs being implemented

20-40% On-Premises and Hybrid Services Monitoring and Support

• Work with architects to set up CI/CD pipelines to ensure properly managed , efficient, and secure integration and delivery of new end user software features to on-premises
• Use software to monitor ongoing performance of solutions
• Make proactive changes before problems impacting performance occur
• Ensure resource utilization is in line with expectations
• Plan and create change specifications needed for applications to scale on-premises and use mandated security protocols and techniques
• Provide other on-premises product support as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent years of experience
• 5+ years of technical experience in system engineer roles or information technology infrastructure support roles
• 2+ years of technical experience supporting cloud based technologies
• Strong technical knowledge and experience with Terraform, Azure ARM, Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, YAML and Serverless Technologies
• Must be able to travel up to 10% of the year to Humana’s offices located in Louisville, KY
• If offered a position with Humana Government Business you would be required to go through the eQIP process to obtain Government Security Clearance to work on government systems

Work at Home Requirements

• Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10×1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required
• A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent years of experience
• Prior experience supporting Azure cloud systems
• Prior healthcare industry experience
