Sana is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our small but growing team. As a successful candidate, you have demonstrated the ability to build, deploy and maintain high-scale data pipelines and infrastructure. You love to take on complex, data-driven questions that will directly influence key business decisions. You work well with key stakeholders to understand their problems, and come up with balanced and scalable solutions to their problems.

What you will do
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to find solutions to challenging and complex data access and analysis problems
- Create and optimize our data pipeline and storage architecture
- Build and maintain the data access platform for our business analytics team and company-wide use
- Design and implement ETL / ELT processes through cloud based solutions (e.g. S3, Redshift)
- Integrate with 3rd party systems and assess tradeoffs between 3rd party integration vs building data solutions in house
- Improve our data tools and contribute to scaling our data infrastructure
- Keep extremely sensitive data compartmentalized and secure
About you
- Minimum of 4 years relevant, hands-on professional experience
- 1+ years of experience architecting cloud data solutions
- Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, data modeling, ETL, and ELT
- Experience working with complicated systems at scale
- Strong experience with database design and SQL
- Expert in understanding and communicating the tradeoffs between different data storage and access solutions
- Expertise in Python, R or similar data focused scripting languages
- Bonus points: Experience with Ruby on Rails conventions
