Who We Are
Gamalon develops AI-driven conversational agents. We’ve created the first chatbot that learns to talk to customers simply, without laborious decision trees or labeling training data. The statistics in our first cohort of customer deployments demonstrate that the Gamalon AI helps customers as well or better than a human chat rep.
We’ve seen great success with early customers. We are now heading into rapid expansion. We are looking for an experienced full-stack software engineer with startup experience to join our team and help us to scale our customer base.
Gamalon was recognized by MIT Technology Review as one of the “50 Smartest Companies” for 2017 and by the World Economic Forum as a 2018 Technology Pioneer. We have filed 74 patents on our technology stack. Gamalon’s conversational AI products are based on a technology platform developed from over $35M of DARPA funded R&D in collaboration with Stanford and MIT, and a $20M Series A led by Intel Capital to commercialize the technology.
Who You Are
You are generous with others and collaborate well in a team environment.
You are curious to learn more about the most advanced machine learning.
You have made a measurable impact on a commercial code base, working in a startup or other highly dynamic environment.
Strong interest in being part of one of the first teams building AI-first software products, collaborating with machine learning engineers as well as with product design. (AI is not yet as agile as software, so you will need to be prepared to collaborate in new ways).

You can demonstrate a facility for learning new programming languages and frameworks
You are proficient in API and other system programming with Python, and comfortable with reviewing and making small changes to front-end consumers of this API
You have a lot of experience with React and other web development frameworks, and you’re comfortable with reviewing and making small changes to back-end APIs implemented in Python.
(We don’t expect you to be a unicorn who is equally skilled at both front and back end development.)
You would be comfortable reviewing code and contributing to systems written in Node.JS
You are based in the Boston area or willing to move. (Gamalon is remote-first due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we have not made a decision to remain so.)
You are authorized to work in the U.S.
What You’ll Do
You will sit on our product team, working with software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product leads to develop our IdeaFlow chat product
You will take a leading role in architecture discussions for the customer-facing components of our products
Work in an agile environment, rapidly delivering shippable features into production.
Help other team members understand design constraints and deliver backend APIs which meet front-end requirements
Pitch in yourself to author API changes, especially to unblock customer-facing work
Salary negotiable. Comprehensive healthcare (including dental and vision), 401k plan and parental leave benefits.
You may not feel that you have all of the experience and skills listed above, but if you are very excited about this role, please apply anyway. We have found that people who are passionate to join us are often the people who we are passionate to hire.
We have a relatively diverse team at Gamalon, and we have seen first hand that as our team diversity has increased, so has the quality of our ideas, teamwork, and delivery. People become more articulate when they are working within a diversity of view points. We work hard to encourage people of all backgrounds to apply.
