Are you excited at the prospect of keeping millions of customers’ data safe? Do you want to help secure web services by implementing cryptography at scale? Security is the #1 concern of customers moving to the cloud and the AWS Cryptography team is dedicated to providing the security features our customers need. We enable customers to confidently move sensitive workloads to the cloud where they can benefit from strong security controls that help meet internal and external compliance requirements. AWS Key Management Service and AWS CloudHSM provide encryption and key management services, AWS Certificate Manager handles the complexity of provisioning, deploying, and managing certificates, while AWS Payment services provide data security, cryptography, key management and connectivity services specific to the payments industry.
We are looking for an experienced product manager with an interest in practical cryptography to join us in building the most secure services in AWS. Our systems protect customer keys and accelerate use of cryptography in all AWS services. Successful candidates will have experience leading teams to build scalable, customer-centric systems. You should have experience working closely with customers to develop and manage a requirements-driven roadmap, as well as operating a service and growing your customer base. You will work with senior leaders, principal engineers, and security specialists to define the roadmap for a globally distributed cryptographic security service.

As an AWS Cryptography product manager you will:

  • Understand our customers inside and out
  • Develop product strategy and vision and translate it into creative, high quality, simple project features
  • Make the business decisions that grow adoption and usage of our services. Set prices, target the right customers, and focus our investments in the right areas.
  • Work closely with engineering teams, design, and program management in an agile environment to deliver products to market
  • Launch new features and makes sure our sales, marketing, and PR teams are telling the most compelling security and cryptography story to our largest and most sensitive customers.

The successful candidate will be a tenacious, ambitious, self-starter with a passion for secure cloud computing and who can serve as a strong advocate for our developer, corporate, and consumer customers. You have understanding of the payments industry and the needs of the different payment processing entities in this ecosystem. You will have proven analytical capabilities, strong persuasive writing skills, internet business experience, and the tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment. You must have a deep understanding of customer needs, the competitive landscape and be able translate customer needs into features and pricing models, and to deliver an unparalleled customer experience. AWS has the most services and more features within those services, than any other cloud providerfrom infrastructure technologies like compute, storage, and databasesto emerging technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, data lakes and analytics, and Internet of Things. Whether its Identity features such as access management and sign on, cryptography, console, builder & developer tools, and even projects like automating all of our contractual billing systems, AWS Platform is always innovating with the customer in mind. The AWS Platform team sustains over 750 million transactions per second.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following: – 10+ years of product management experience preferably with internet business experience

  • 5+ years of management experience
  • BA/BS required; BS in Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematics plus MBA preferred

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Subject matter expertise in payments domain, cryptography and/or payments security.
  • Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate data driven decisions that lead to results
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, and prioritize multiple projects
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability to navigate a complex and unstructured cross-functional environment
  • Strong writing and speaking skills

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $179,900 to 211,700/yr. Our range of benefits may include health care, employee discounts, 401(k) savings plans, paid time off, and more.
