The Zillow Experience Design (ZxD) team works collaboratively to solve tough human and business problems with elegant user experiences. About the role
As a Senior Product Designer on the Rentals team, you will be responsible for working collaboratively and iteratively with product managers, design researchers, fellow designers, data scientists, and engineers — from initial concept and strategy through the execution of design and then product releases.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is excited to tackle real user problems and craft compelling experiences across a variety of platforms and mediums, including mobile apps, mobile web, and desktop.
You will:
- Define the vision for a product or service
- Design and prototype elegant solutions for mobile and web applications
- Partner with design leads, product managers on product strategy and definition
- Identify user needs, sketch solutions with prototypes, test ideas with design researchers, and refine designs with data and user feedback
- Document detailed interaction models and UI specifications
- Collaborate with other designers to maintain consistency
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.
Who you are
- Have at least 5+ years experience designing digital solutions for customers and/or operators/businesses.
- An excellent independent contributor who needs little supervision
- Proficient in user-centered design methods, exploration, storytelling and detailed interaction design
- Passionate for solving problems from big picture strategy to the tiny details
- You can independently lead all aspects of the design process from conception to completion
- You have strong communication skills and a track record of effectively advocating for and evangelizing user-centered design
- You enjoy collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders – including business strategists, researchers, designers, and engineers – on complex problems
