About the role
The Senior Project Manager will be an integral part in helping our team ship software and content releases on time while also working at a sustainable pace. As our first Project Management hire, you’ll have the opportunity to set the standards for how the function works. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, you will be responsible for creating and tracking schedules for application development and releases and coordinating with content, community, and marketing teams to align timelines and communicate requirements. As a fully-distributed team working across 13 time zones, this role will be critical to making sure everyone knows what is happening and when.
In this role you will:
Create, communicate, and maintain release schedules, making sure that all stakeholders are aware of key dates and requirementsIdentify and track dependencies and resolve logistic and schedule roadblocks
Collaborate with the Product, Design, Content, and Engineering teams to ensure that work is assigned to releases, and that projects will land in time for the appropriate release train
Facilitate retrospectives and other activities to help the team improve its processes and output
Communicate with the larger org around releases (e.g. announcing submissions and releases in #launch on Slack)
Work with Marketing and Content teams to ensure they know release timelines and dependencies so that asset deliverable schedules are in lockstep with release trains, enabling internal and external testing and review of new features and releases in advance
Manage releases in Google Play and iTunes Connect
What we are looking for:
5+ years experience managing software projects through multiple phases of development with stakeholders in multiple time zones, ideally using Agile methodologies. Prior experience working with cross-functional teams consisting of product, design, engineering and content creators required
Must have experience managing priorities and schedules in a dynamic, fast-paced environment using a variety of approaches and processes tuned to the needs of the team
Prior experience both creating schedules and communication protocols from scratch and maintaining and iterating existing onesHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Curious, independent, self-starter who is analytical, empathetic, and calm under pressure
Capable of building collaborative relationships based on trust, candor, empathy, and respect
Exceptional written and verbal communication. Fluency in English is a must!
