What Is Employee Growth Rate & Why Is It Important?

Sustainably scaling our operations is key to Block’s strategy for expansion.  As a software engineer on Justice Engineering, you will have the opportunity to understand and remove inefficiencies faced by the Counsel, Tax, Compliance, and Risk Management teams.  You will be responsible for designing, communicating, and implementing solutions to problems faced by many non-engineering teams within Block while collaborating with other engineering teams across Block.

As a member of our team, you will:

  • Provide technical direction for the full stack development for current and future products built on the team.
  • Design and develop frameworks and patterns that will allow the team to build new products quickly and scalably.
  • Design and build APIs and highly available services that deliver value to internal teams at Block.
  • Work closely with our stakeholders to build solutions that cater to unmet business needs.

You have:

  • Demonstrated excellence in any of the full stack frameworks with 4+ years of experience
  • Experience building component-based web apps with modern JavaScript front-end frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Angular, or Ember)
  • Experience designing and building APIs
  • A desire to be directly responsible for the lifecycle of engineering solutions. This includes leading the design and implementation of projects and organizing the team to achieve a remarkable solution
  • A sense of customer empathy and desire to build great products
  • Ability to discover and understand how something works
  • A desire to think outside of the box and provide different perspectives on approaching and solving problems
