The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing and ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely financial statements for Lionheart Children’s Academy (LH) and Skylark Summer Camps (SKY). This leader will be passionate about the vision and mission of LH and SKY and combine this passion with professional skills to maintain critical accounting processes and produce financial statements helpful to ministry leadership. This position reports to the Controller.
System integration and data imports including payroll, donations and employee expenses
Reconciliations including banks, merchant services and various balance sheet accounts
Journal entries including general ledger and accrual entries
Intercompany account management
Work with the financial services team to provide timely and accurate books to management on or before the 10th of each month.
Review the financial statements after close and provide observations, insights, and recommended improvements
Respond to Operations’ requests in a timely and thorough manner
Recurring / monthly responsibilities:
Expense report approval
Accounts payable review and processing
Complete other tasks as directed by the Controller
Participate in Financial Services activities including the monthly team meeting
Senior Staff Accountants have the privilege of working on a departmental team and working with academy staff and national office leaders. Background, Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Accounting
2-4 years of experience in accounting
Intacct and advanced Excel experience preferred
Mental and/or physical competencies necessary to execute the requirements of this role:
Communication skills (verbal, written, typing, hearing/listening)
Tech skills, including interfacing with a remote team via a variety of platforms
Detail-oriented and thorough
Managing and completing multiple processes/tasks by deadlines
Full-time 35-40 hours per week
The employee will work remotely; weekly schedule dependent on staffing and duties.
