What Is Employee Growth Rate & Why Is It Important?

#WeAreCrowdStrike and our mission is to stop breaches. As a global leader in cybersecurity, our team changed the game. Since our inception, our market leading cloud-native platform has offered unparalleled protection against the most sophisticated cyberattacks. We’re looking for people with limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to the customer to join us in shaping the future of cybersecurity. Consistently recognized as a top workplace, CrowdStrike is committed to cultivating an inclusive, remote-first culture that offers people the autonomy and flexibility to balance the needs of work and life while taking their career to the next level. Interested in working for a company that sets the standard and leads with integrity? Join us on a mission that matters – one team, one fight.

About the Role:

  • CrowdStrike is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our growing Product development team. This team of engineers focuses on security related endpoint, cloud, back-end and API development.  We’re looking for smart people who want to be challenged and take ownership of what they build, working in an environment where quality is the company culture.
  • The Product development team is a central part of CrowdStrike’s mission – “We Stop Breaches.” Our goal is to automatically stop the bad guys where possible, and to provide useful visibility and guidance to security analysts when new adversary activity occurs. We research attacker behavior to understand their tools and techniques, and we build capabilities to detect, manage, and prevent malicious activity. Our detection strategies are often performed directly on the endpoint, but are also executed in our cloud servers and may utilize a hybrid strategy combining aspects of both environments.  This ability to leverage a variety of tools across the CrowdStrike stack allows us to accomplish our detection goals while balancing local resource utilization and false positives for our customers.
  • As an SDET within the Product development team you will be focused on the validation of major research projects and features on the endpoint or in the cloud. You will collaborate with Product team engineers on enhancing our sensor and cloud systems. You will build test suites for sensor features, including both on-device testing and end-to-end validation. You will collaborate with multiple teams within engineering, and be expected to make significant contributions to the design, development, implementation and quality of major development projects as well as the test infrastructure itself by developing new tools to enable projects under development to test more effectively.

Success in this role means:

  • Breaking software systems in creative and useful ways.
  • Automating test processes for speed, reproducibility, and scalability. You will build unit tests, system tests, performance tests and more.
  • Reviewing feature engineer code and discerning the quality regarding functional and non-functional requirements
  • Thriving with responsibility, challenges, and aggressive goals.
  • Collaborating both within and across teams to deliver quality software.
  • Building elegant, robust, and reliable solutions for complex technical problems.

You will:

  • Understand the requirements of software projects and build test plans appropriate to those requirements.
  • Understand the software architectures of the team deliverables; participate in design discussions.
  • Build automated tests and systems based on software architecture, integration points and business goals.
  • Design, develop, verify, deploy and maintain automated test suites and frameworks, working collaboratively, with a goal of minimizing manual testing.
  • Write clear and detailed bug reports when things break, and work with the team to identify and validate fixes.
  • Deliver and accept feedback with grace and courtesy.
  • Take ownership and be accountable for deliverables, both individually and when leading a team.

What You’ll Need:

  • 4+ years of hands-on SDET/test automation development experience
  • A computer science background or equivalent experience (e.g. programming styles, data structures, algorithms, concurrency, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in product development, product release and software development lifecycles
  • Demonstrated experience with white-box testing techniques – reviewing code and understanding architecture(s)
  • Demonstrated experience with CI/CD frameworks
  • Prior experience developing code in Python, Go or C/C++
  • Team player – demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in a globally distributed team.

Bonus Points:

  • Prior experience with pytest, Jenkins or Bamboo in a SAAS environment
  • Experience testing APIs in a SAAS environment
  • Understanding Event Driven architecture and cloud native technologies
  • Prior experience working with low-level code, or any Mac/Win/Linux module development.
  • Knowledge of low-level operating system internals, components, APIs, and design, for one or more of our supported platforms (including Windows, macOS, and Linux).
