Job Summary:

The Application Developer Consultant provides code/design analysis and strategy, supports project planning, and develops code and designs for projects. They develop code, support the review of code, design, and testing for peers. The Consultant will work closely with business partners to identify needs and design technology solutions to overcome process bottlenecks, reduce compliance risks, or generally increase operational efficiency. The Consultant will investigate, troubleshoot, correct issues, and ensure that our commission processes are clearly defined, documented, and are processed accurately and on time. They are often required to deliver tactical solutions that can be implemented within a few days. They are responsible for all phases of the application development cycle: beginning with agile, and ultimately ongoing user support.

Key Responsibilities:

Develops code, documentation and follow development standards
Ensures that design/code reviews are scheduled and executed; provide feedback and recommends solutions; ensures that design standards and documentation are followed and certifies that code meets quality standards; reviews and critiques code presented by team members.
Tracks and resolves defects and assists in planning efforts of functional tests in support of Quality Control
Critiques and evaluates detailed user stories, functional, and high-level technical requirements (including recovery, security, and audit)
Assists with PI Planning preparation, iterations. Reviews and validate accuracy of others’ story points and works with Scrum Masters in continuous process improvement for continuous delivery
Contributes to determining programming approach, tools, and techniques that best meet the business goals. Promotes and defines development standards and high architectural standards.
Follows defined change management process
Performs root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of problem and manages the resolution of problems

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
1 or more years of related experience with any Commissions systems is a plus

Technical Skills:

2+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using Java/J2EE, Angular/React, spring boot, Docker Compose, rxJava 2, Spring Core, JUnit
Experience with Micro Services, HTML5, JavaScript, Typescript, Node.js, CSS3, JSON Restful APIS
Experience in writing SQL, NOSQL queries
Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
Experience in functional or/and reactive programming. Using libraries like RxJS or Cycle.js
Familiar with PCF, GitHub for source control, Jenkins, Maven or Griddle build process.
Application performance monitoring tools like Dynatrace/AppDynamics, SPLUNK, Elastic Search
Advantage Understanding of KAFKA or other messaging solutions

Compensation offered for this role is $67,300.00-$115,875.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
