Senior Software Engineer, Backend
VergeSense is looking for a Software Engineer to join the IoT Platform team. In this role, you will build, maintain, and enhance the backend APIs and infrastructure which supports the fleet of VergeSense IoT devices. This work includes servicing our data ingestion pipelines which process 50M events per day, in addition to the software required to monitor and maintain our expanding fleet.

This role reports to the Director of Software Development.
What we are looking for:
You have 5+ years of software engineering experience. You have a command of technologies like Ruby on Rails, Node.js, PostgreSQL. You have experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud computing platforms. You have an understanding of REST API design and implementation. You have a track record of working cross functionally with different departments to deliver high impact projects. You care about code quality and long term maintainability
Bonus:
You have prior experience in the IoT space. You have experience with embedded Linux systems. You have experience with frontend technologies (React, jQuery)
