Position Summary
GoodLeap is the industry leader in financing U.S. residential solar installations.  We have high standards for the business results of every project we undertake in the technology organization and beyond, and a history of performance teams.  As we increase the size of our portfolio of initiatives, we seek an experienced Program Manager with the demonstrated ability to inspire and drive program and change management excellence.  We do not do process for process’ sake, and yet we understand that success cannot be delivered relentlessly and consistently without structure, and appropriate standards and tools that ensure outstanding communication, coordination, and all-out, no holds barred execution.  We value tact, a great sense of humor, and the “superpower” to push for results while building great cross-functional relationships based on trust and accountability. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Program Management: 

  • Ensure that every project/program you manage has SMART objectives/KPIs in place and delivers to them. Every project delivers on its business objectives on-time, on-budget, and with no stakeholder left behind or surprised. 
  • Follow effective and efficient mechanisms, ceremonies, and tools for project planning, stakeholder analysis & communication plans, issue/ risk management, change management.   
  • Foresee dependencies, risks, and issues – building an understanding with your program team of the differences between these and you can demonstrate the effective management of all of them. 
  • Remarkable meeting facilitation skills – your meetings have objectives, agendas, the right attendees, and consistently move the project forward efficiently.  You are not afraid to cite the DACI and excuse people from a meeting on the spot, and no one leaves your meetings confused about status, next steps, or accountability. 
  • Utilize tactful but direct communication skills to push for clarity in all aspects of your projects, and ensure that clarity is communicated with appropriate reach, frequency, and medium.   
  • Communicate and over-communicate. There are no surprises in your projects. 
  • Build and maintain trust with your project team.  


  • Guide/Teach more junior members in art of program management. 
  • Provide consulting to non-program managers who are wanting to expand their skills in other areas of GoodLeap’s organization. 
  • Lead by example in time management and meeting efficiency: design and demand efficient, concise meetings with the right people present that deliver good decisions and appropriate follow up communication.   
  • Lead by example in follow-through and execution.  When you are running a meeting/program/project, there is general acknowledgement that nothing will be dropped or overlooked. 

Continuous Improvement

  • Learning from project retrospectives are analyzed and actioned to improve the current processes. 
  • Suggestions on new/better ways to do things are presented, advocated for, and added to the PMO repository. 
  • You are not afraid to ask “why” if something does not make sense, and you can tactfully push beyond the answer of “because that is the way we have always done it”. 

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • 5-10+ years in program management in software development, financial services, mortgage lending or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrated ability to define and manage large, cross-functional, complex projects from planning to launch in a remote, multi-time zone work environment. 
  • Experience with project management best practices, agile development methodologies, portfolio wide analytics, decision making, and prioritization. 
  • World-class time management skills 
  • Must understand the software development lifecycle implicitly and collaborate with developers, product managers, creative teams & IT professionals, both internal and external vendors. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, outstanding conflict management skills; strong influence, negotiation, and presentation skills.  Demonstrated communication style & presence to work effectively directly with executive teams.  
  • Excellent analytical skills; proven track record of good decision making and exercising sound business judgment. 
  • Experience in business process engineering, implementation, and/or change leadership highly desirable. 
  • Lean Six Sigma black belt highly desirable.
