Pearl is a national start-up that certifies high-performing homes: homes with efficient heating and cooling, solar, smart home devices, resilient features and much more. Pearl’s certification drives demand for these improvements by capturing their value for resale and appraisal.
We are looking for an experienced and versatile Marketing Director who is hungry to scale a national start up with a passionate team of entrepreneurs. This position will work remotely from anywhere in the US (Pearl has been fully remote since our founding). Our ideal candidate has experience developing and executing marketing campaigns. S/he/they will be comfortable with setting long-term strategy, as well as executing day-to-day marketing activities, thriving with tight deadlines and changing needs.
The Public Private Partnerships (“P3”) Marketing Director will assist in building brand value for Pearl and our key partners in specific markets by developing regional marketing campaigns and managing their timely and successful execution.The successful candidate will be able to adeptly project manage people, schedules, deliverables, and deadlines.
As Marketing Director, you will:
- Report to the Vice President of Public Private Partnerships (P3) Division, leading all marketing efforts related to our work with states, utilities, municipalities, federal agencies, and nonprofits
- Collaborate closely within P3, with further support from our Corporate Marketing team and external consultants and agencies; collaborate with Marketing staff in other divisions, as our work intersects with all of Pearl’s customers
- Develop marketing strategies to advance Pearl’s P3 offerings, and lead the tactical execution of campaigns from start-to-finish, including Pearl’s comprehensive program designed to raise consumer awareness within the market area. Specific activities will include:
- Development of overall marketing plans in conjunction with multiple stakeholders, including state agencies, utilities, non-profits, and others
- Development of market-specific marketing content including print, digital and multimedia content
- Coordination of marketing activities across events, social media, paid media, email marketing, earned media, and more
- Direct-to-consumer marketing designed to drive awareness of the program and Pearl among homeowners
- Work with marketing teams within our partner organizations to design campaigns that meet the needs of all stakeholders, while also impacting Pearl’s larger goal of increasing awareness and understanding of Pearl
- Coordinate with local partners on marketing strategies for promoting our regional programs (in person and/or virtually)
- Oversee and coordinate with marketing consultants (digital team, designers, copy writers and publicists) to develop creative briefs, guide creative direction and project manage campaign aspects across paid media, content development, print production, event management, and earned media
- Use metrics and analytics to gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies and generate more qualified leads
- Use tools such as Slack, Monday, Google Suite, Lucidchart, Salesforce and Pardot to execute projects
- Some travel is required for this role – up to 25%; please note that Pearl requires employees to be fully vaccinated for business travel and in-person meetings
What we’re looking for in a Marketing Director (must-haves):
- Proficiency with multi-channel marketing, including digital marketing, event marketing, earned media, social media marketing, and more
- Excellent project management skills; ability to take ownership of projects and track deadlines, status updates, and campaign components
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders who have varying levels of marketing sophistication
- Experience developing, leading, and executing strategic marketing campaigns, while managing and collaborating with teams
- Strong communicator with the ability to present marketing campaigns, tactics and results to B2B customers as well as executive staff, successfully gaining stakeholder buy-in
- Self-starter with a high-level of urgency that thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to prioritize competing priorities in a swift manner
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and work independently
- Authorization to legally work in the US (Pearl is unable to sponsor employment visas at this time.)
Nice to have:
- Basic understanding of Google Drive software (i.e., docs, sheets, folders, etc.)
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, HVAC, solar, real estate, or other complementary trade is preferred, but not required
- Startup experience

Compensation and Benefits:
- Market salary based on experience and local conditions, in the range of $105k – $125k, plus stock options
- Medical, vision and dental coverage provided for employees and their families, with optional upgrade coverage, where the employee covers only the difference in cost
