We are currently seeking a Back-End Developer to join our team!

Responsibilities:

  • Conceive and write detailed software implementations/code while ensuring that the code/configurations adhere to the security, logging, error handling, and performance standards and non-functional requirements.
  • Write, configure, and integrate code to create the software that aligns with architecture patterns and technology strategy.
  • Understand the implications of various components (including technology strategy & architecture) to the overall design of a program, system, or eco-system.
  • Evaluate new technologies for fit with the program/system/ecosystem and the associated upstream and downstream impacts on process, data, risk (e.g. security).
  • Work toward the objective of defect free software.
  • Ensure that systems functionally meet requirements, align with architecture and promote the development of common assets.
  • Assess impact of design decisions to the solution being developed (i.e. performance, schedule, budget, downstream component/system impact, quality, etc.) and recommend alternate/creative solutions for mitigation/optimization if required.
  • Assess the costs and benefits for different solutions and recommend/decide on appropriate designs.
  • Design solutions, write code, perform unit testing, develop appropriate artefacts / documentation, and facilitates final delivery.
  • Builds solutions that are supportable, scalable and achieve our aspiration of common assets.

Skills:

General:

  • Typically, 7+ years of relevant experience and/or certification in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of software development practices, concepts, and technology obtained through formal training and/or work experience.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
  • Knowledge of technical/business environment and processes.
  • Good understanding for mission critical financial applications.

Coding:

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript.
  • Ability to provide high quality code, knowledge of common patterns, ability to improve the code using linting tools (such as Sonar), automated testing and pull request reviews.
  • Understanding of Microservices Architecture with the specifics of Spring Boot.
  • Understanding of large-system integration patterns (e.g. SOAP/XML, JSON/RESTful Services, Socket.io, Server sent events).
  • Experience with databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB
  • DevOps concepts (Continuous Integration/Delivery) and tools (Git, Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, Artifactory)
  • Understand functional aspects and technical behavior of the underlying operating system, development environment, and deployment practices.
  • Excellent understanding of software development life cycle and Agile methodology
