About the Role
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us up-level our production GCP and AWS infrastructure to keep our search and other critical platforms running smoothly.
Our current deployment:
Backend, Search, & ML Systems: GCP primarily running services on GKE
Legal document processing pipeline: AWS primarily running processors on AWS Batch
User facing applications: Heroku
Our tech stack includes:
Several large, high-traffic Elasticsearch clusters
Fully containerized Scala microservices and processor code
Fully containerized Python microservices for machine learning, requiring significant GPU compute resources
Terraform for infrastructure reproducibility
NodeJS frontend webservers
As a DevOps Engineer You Will:
Improve the reproducibility of all our infrastructure with Terraform or similar. We believe having all infrastructure as code is a critical part of a well-functioning ops organization
Help our engineers work more efficiently by streamlining our development environments and practices
Improve our CI/CD pipelines
Define and implement best practices around monitoring and information security
Design and deploy cost effective infrastructure to support our complex data processing, search, and machine learning systems
You Have:
At least 2 years of professional experience in devops using modern technologies
Experience with AWS and/or GCP. Experience with both is strongly preferred
Working experience with Kubernetes
Experience working with Terraform or similar “infrastructure in code” framework
Basic proficiency in Python and ideally some experience with Scala/Java and/or Javascript
Experience building out CI/CD pipelines
Cares deeply about platform integrity, uptime, and security
Enjoys working with other engineers to help them be more effective
