About The Role
As the Director of Merchandising of the 11 Honoré Collection, you will have the unique opportunity of scaling and expanding our private label business in conjunction with Dia & Co’s vision and strategic objectives. You will work closely with our design team and manufacturing partners to bring to life some of the most compelling product in the industry. You will manage our wholesale business, working closely with planning and business development teams to ensure the collection expands into new doors and reaches new audiences. You are a data driven merchandiser with great taste and a love for great fashion. Above all, you are obsessed with creating a beautiful assortment for our customers.
What you’ll do
11 Honoré Collection: Private Label Design & Product Development
- Expand 11 Honoré’s private label in conjunction with Dia & Co’s vision, roadmap and goals
- In partnership with the Design team, develop a clear point of view and compelling assortment
- Manage the product development calendar, working with your team in building and managing milestones and trigger dates
- Own the product life cycle, managing costs, margin, pricing and markdowns across DTC and wholesale channels
Analysis and Reporting
- Own all metrics around the private label and wholesale business
- Report out on sales, returns and overall brand performance while identifying opportunities for improvement
Sourcing & Manufacturing
- Drive high-level conversations with current manufacturing partner; manage closely the relationship, hold regular planning & hindsight meetings, identify and quantify any chargebacks, communicate and manage any quality issues, etc.
- Source new partners as applicable, maintain relationships in the industry
Wholesale Management
- In conjunction with business development, work with wholesale buyers to secure orders, communicate line updates and delivery status, negotiate style and shipping costs
- In conjunction with Operations team, ensure that communication is clear and smooth between the factory, distribution center and wholesaler such that we always fulfill per expectations
- Closely monitor chargebacks, intimately understand requirements and proactively minimize any issues
Collaborate closely with the rest of the team; Empower and support the team, ensure they have all the information and resources needed to execute, and that you foster a culture of collaboration, positivity, hard work and proactivity.
Who You Are
- Have 7-10+ years of experience in a merchandising role, with direct involvement in product development and/or wholesale
- Are customer-centric with a passion for serving the plus size market
- Have an eye for style and passion for fashion
- Are a self-starter with the ability to take initiative, ownership and accountability
- Are exceptionally analytical and data-driven in your approach
- Are an inspirational leader and strong team builder
- Have a track record of successful negotiation and vendor management
