What Is Employee Growth Rate & Why Is It Important?
Meta is hiring a Privacy Policy Manager to join the Reality Labs Policy team. The Reality Labs Policy team’s mission is to guide development of AR/VR technologies across Meta as we build the future of the next generation computing platform. This role will work closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional partners across the company to align on technical solutions and public policy considerations governing the next generation of products and research being developed across Reality Labs. The Manager will help develop internal safeguards and policy guidelines, build partnerships with external stakeholders, and facilitate legislative and regulatory advocacy. The ideal candidate is a constant learner, skilled at prioritizing, organized, can navigate ambiguity, can juggle multiple tasks and timelines at once, and is excited by new technologies. The candidate will be familiar with privacy and technology policy issues, perspectives and stakeholders, and able to exercise independent judgment while advising on the implications of new products and features.
RL Policy Manager Responsibilities:
- Craft and execute proactive policy strategies to address key public policy issues affecting AR/VR
- Evaluate and provide guidance on the privacy and public policy implications of Reality Labs products and services
- Issue-spot global policy implications, responsibility, and conformance with norms of the policy communities of new products and features
- Consult with policy stakeholders on building Reality Labs products and publicly represent Meta’s perspective
- Review legislation and work with legislative teams on drafting positions
- Respond to a wide range of requests from Product, Legal, Policy, Communications, and Business teams across the company
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience prioritizing multiple simultaneous projects
- 5+ years of public policy experience (2+ years experience with advanced degree in similar field)
- Experience with creating policy analysis and public presentation
- Familiarity with public policy issues governing emerging technology
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with privacy product counseling and global privacy frameworks
- Working familiarity with privacy legislative frameworks
- JD or Master’s degree or equivalent
