Job Summary:

As the design aesthetic lead of Allstate, the Visual Designer for consumer web experiences plans for, creates and manages clear, consistent, and engaging high-quality digital user interfaces to drive bottom-line business results for the company. You’ll work across a range of customer experiences and touchpoints, including Allstate.com, branded responsive websites, email and other marketing experiences.

The Visual Designer supports Allstate’s overall visual brand objectives that communication our brand values while maintaining accessible design consistency within our customer journey. You’ll be an expert at leveraging typography, color, iconography, illustration, imagery, motion, layout design and conceptual thinkinginto an enterprise-wide design system.

You’ll use design thinking and keep the user at the center of everything we do when collaborating with UX Content Designers, UX Designers, and UX Researchers. You’ll be able to develop solutions that merge human-centered visual design solutions that’s on brand and utilize customer insights, data, legal and stakeholder input.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design beautiful and smart consumer facing responsive web solutions that delight our agents and customers.
  • Focus on both conceptual and detailed design.
  • Understand and interpret brand, user, and business needs, and transform them into innovative, creative, and results-oriented digital solutions.
  • Create & iterate visual design deliverables under the guidance of Senior Designers.
  • Ensure design consistency and quality across multiple digital channels.
  • Brainstorm big ideas in a group setting and express your opinion.
  • Effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines.
  • Ideate, concept, design, and govern clear and engaging UX Visual Design solutions that help drive business results across the entire customer journey.
  • Utilize extreme attention to detail to turn product, marketing and business requirements into an elegant, modern, clear and concise experiences for our customers.
  • Collaborate and contribute big and small ideas with our multi-disciplinary UX team to design a variety of compelling user experiences.
  • Use data, research and insights to inform designs and evaluate their impact and derive customer insights that will help us solve our biggest customer problems and show real business results.
  • Support feature development, components, user flows, product logic, and education.
  • Work with and gain approval from other stakeholders and maintain visual design and interaction consistency.
  • Create, maintain, contribute, and evolve Allstate’s design system guidelines and pattern library.
  • Serve as brand ambassadors and owners of the Allstate design aesthetic.
  • Help translated the Allstate brand visually into compelling customer digital experiences.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job does not have supervisory duties.

Education and Experience:

  • Four or more years as a UX Visual Designer, Experience Designer, Art Director, UI designer, or equivalent work experience in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience with design systems, branding, pattern libraries, accessibility.
  • Experience with responsive web experiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in visual or graphics design, BFA/BA in related field, or equivalent work experience.

Functional Skills:

  • Excellent communication & design skills, including storytelling, color, typography, a keen eye for design aesthetic, and presentation.
  • Proven ability to work within brand guidelines to create compelling visual solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with peers, managers, and stakeholders across disciplines and at all levels throughout the org.
  • A relentless focus on the user.
  • Understanding of capabilities and limitations of front-end technologies, including CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. You will not be expected to code.
  • Must be highly motivated, positive and a passionate team player.
  • An understanding of user-centered design in UX patterns and best practices.
  • Skilled in of key design tools, including Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Zeplin & Invision.
  • Naturally curious, empathetic, humble and passionate about human-centered design.
  • Familiarity with lean UX and agile development processes.
  • Strong understanding of typographical skills and visual hierarchy.
  • Inspire others with enthusiasm and work ethic.
  • Proficient in planning and executing a variety of UX Visual Design methods.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to quickly build rapport, establish credibility, and work collaboratively with peers, managers and stakeholders across disciplines and levels.
  • Comfortable applying UX Visual Design within a variety of design methodologies and processes (Agile, Lean UX, etc.).
  • A smart, solid portfolio that demonstrates how you think, depicting high-caliber visual communication, responsive web, mobile design, branding, and production skills.

Compensation offered for this role is $67,300.00-$113,875.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
