What Is Employee Growth Rate & Why Is It Important?
Meta is seeking a talented attorney to join as an Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment in our employment law group. The position will report to the Associate General Counsel responsible for Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Immigration, and Compliance employment law support, and will handle a wide range of employment law-related issues, with a focus on providing legal advice on global diversity, equity & inclusion matters, immigration, and general HR compliance, and provide advice and counsel to Meta’s Global Talent Mobility team. This position will work cross functionally with partners across all geographic regions.
Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice, counsel, and support to key partners in Human Resources, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Recruiting, Global Talent Mobility, and HR Compliance on a broad range of employment legal matters
- Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement activities relating to the above substantive legal areas, and provide proactive, strategic advice to the Employment Law Group and relevant stakeholders
- Lead privileged internal audits and process reviews, and new policy and program creation and implementation
- Partner, advise, and collaborate with other employment lawyers, the broader legal team, and key teams and stakeholders across the company on relevant matters/issues
- Draft and maintain employment-related documents, policies, and processes
- Proactively identify where new and/or improved processes will lead to greater efficiencies and develop and implement appropriate process improvements and efficiencies, partnering with above teams as necessary
- Travel throughout the US and internationally as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar
- 8+ years experience as a practicing attorney
- 6+ years of experience in labor and employment law
- In-house legal department experience
- Experience with counseling on, or litigation related to, recruiting/relocation programs and/or immigration compliance, and/or OFCCP Compliance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience advising on international employment issues and supporting clients outside the United States
- Experience counseling on global Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion matters
- Experience counseling business and HR teams on remote work, alternative work arrangements, and/or general people movement strategies
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills and experience in quickly build trust with team members and influence cross-functional partners
