As a Bid Writer with Edmentum, you’ll have the opportunity to work with experienced professionals in the education industry, who are fun, appreciative of a strong work ethic, and committed to your professional development. The Bid Writer is responsible for coordinating and producing proposals for a variety of Edmentum solutions and services. The Bid Writer will analyze RFPs for text requirements, develop and format proposal response text, incorporate edits and direct proposal development efforts.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Plan, develop, coordinate, and produce compliant, professional proposals within customer defined timeframes
- Serve as central point of contact and work collaboratively with teams across Edmentum to ensure on time, accurate, complete, and compliant bid responses
- Coordinate and review proposal input from SMEs and a variety of contributors
- Edit text for voice, messaging, and adherence to internal style guide
- Write customized and boilerplate text
- Ensure the proper context of each proposal section
- Maintain version control at each stage of proposal draft iteration
- Perform final electronic and hard copy edits of all proposal drafts and versions
- Format proposal for production
- Coordinate and produce final proposal documents
- Track shipments
- Adhere to strict internal and external deadlines for a variety of assignments and proposals
- Coach sales teams and SMEs in proposal process and best practices
- Communicate with contributors to resolve reported problems and obtain additional information
- Track solicitation responses and status in Salesforce
- Assist with proposal library updates and maintenance
- Assist other writers and provide peer review as needed
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree (English, Technical Communication, or Communications-related degrees preferred)
- Writing experience in proposal writing, marketing writing, business writing, or technical writing, preferably in the K-12 education sector
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- Prior experience working in a business or corporate setting
- Strong ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with others
- Ability to write and edit proposals with little supervision
- Must be able to work as needed to meet tight deadlines and at peak periods
- Experience working with and interviewing technical and other staff to develop persuasive text
- Acute attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to set own priorities and escalate issues in a timely manner
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities
- Ability to perform independent research to understand writing topics
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong skills in MS Word required
This role is open to any location in the US. Per the CO State requirement (EPT Rules): minimum salary of $52,900. The actual rate of pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
