What Is Employee Growth Rate & Why Is It Important?
Rootine is a mission-driven digital health startup focused on optimizing health and human performance through precision nutrition. Rootine unlocks total body health and supports common health conditions like fatigue, stress, brain fog and more through at-home lab testing, precision nutrition products, in-app tracking, and community. Cellular nutrition is core to health and we are building the only precise, end-to-end solution to optimize cellular nutrition.

What We Are Looking For
We’re looking for our first Chief of Staff hire who is excited to build at the forefront of precision nutrition and use creativity to help us improve the health and daily performance of millions across the globe.
You will work directly with our CEO and Co-founder to own a range of special projects and business initiatives, develop internal and external communications, assist with people operations, and act as a thought partner on strategy and content. The right person for this role is a dynamic resource, skilled in executing familiar and unfamiliar tasks that is ready to take on a significant, high impact role on a small team.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the company by learning first hand the ins and outs of scaling a high-growth venture-backed consumer health startup. Note that Day-to-day responsibilities will evolve as new opportunities arise and the right person is comfortable with some degree of uncertainty.
What You’ll Do
- Be a trusted extension of the CEO with team members and external stakeholders.
- Ownership of special projects acting as a thought partner to the CEO – diagnose problems, analyze opportunities, deliver key insights, make data-driven recommendations, and execute
- Catching owner-less projects as they are created and see them through to completion
- Maintain company-level KPIs, perform data analysis, and assist with financial modeling
- Create systemized workflows to improve efficiency in day to day work
- Assist in preparation of internal and external communications (e.g. fundraising decks, investor communications, weekly sync material)
- Develop strategy and processes needed to scale Rachel’s digital presence including performing outreach, and vetting media and speaking opportunities as they arise
- Attend meetings and calls with the CEO or on behalf as a proxy
- Assist in research, preparation, and outreach for the Precision Health Pod and other content opportunities
- Play a role in building out and executing our hiring plan
Who You Are:
- 1-3+ years in a fast-paced environment such as finance, consulting, or startups
- Uniquely curious to learn all aspects of startup strategy, operations, and growth and passionate about building the future of health
- Ownership mindset – you hold yourself accountable and can step up and lead when there is no clear project owner
- Demonstrated resourcefulness, ability to learn on your feet, and willingness to jump in where there are opportunities – both small tasks and large ones
- You thrive in uncertainty, you are a lifelong learner, and are comfortable to leaning into unfamiliar tasks with the ability to get up to speed quickly
- You have a problem-solver mentality with the ability to rapidly prioritize to find solutions
- Strong ability to conduct financial and data analysis to evaluate opportunities, prepare investor communications, and maintain company KPIs
- Attention to detail with the ability to move quickly and value progress over perfection
Location Base: Remote [HQ in Nashville TN]
Compensation: Competitive Salary + Equity Potential for Right Candidate
Manager: Report to CEO and Co-founder
Interview Process
- Meet Rachel and learn about Rootine – start with a 15-min call with Rachel, Rootine’s CEO and Co-founder and from there if we are excited to continue, we will schedule a follow up
- Technical Interview – a 30-45 min Zoom talking in-depth about your work experience, your approach to working, problem solving, process and more
- Technical Challenge – a short take-home assignment that will allow you to highlight how you would approach the Chief of Staff role at Rootine. You will be asked to present either via Loom or over Zoom to Rachel
- Meet more of the team – a chance to connect with other department heads across marketing, brand, member experience, and ops
- Reference conversations – we will connect with people you have worked with before to learn more about how we can best work with and support you in the role. At this point, we’re excited and expect to hear great things so it’s primarily so you are set up for success at Rootine
