Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Developer Advocate (DA) to join the Modern Application DA team. The team is made up of a group of DA Specialists who work both externally with the community to drive adoption of AWS solutions and internally with Service Teams to build better products and features. The team focuses on Modern Application Development with different specialties. In this position, you will focus on Modern App Development with a specialty on .NET .

As a Developer Advocate in the AWS Developer Relations organization, you will work to earn trust with Enterprise developers and the broader .NET community through your technical leadership and expertise. This is a high-impact role that’s well-suited to someone with domain-specific technical experience that enjoys sharing what they have learned in order to help users solve their technical issues and overcome any challenges they face. You will have the ability to influence and educate customers at every stage of their experience with technologies such as Serverless, Containers, DevOps tools and more.

Key job responsibilities
You will produce technical content to help the community of .NET developers adopt new capabilities and build modern applications. You will represent AWS in the .NET User community and will participate in open source initiatives. You will also represent .NET developers in product planning and engineering discussions.

In addition, you will create technical artifacts for customers to learn about new features, and guide their plans for building solutions on top of AWS. You’ll offer opinionated and timely guidance on how to make the most of the features and functions of AWS services in the Modern App category. This content includes blog posts, technical presentations, workshops, and video content. You will work with AWS Lambda, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS and other AWS services to create sample code and demo applications to help communicate complex ideas and scenarios.

A day in the life
Developers Advocates represent AWS externally in the technical community, they inspire and guide Builders in their journey by producing technical artifacts (videos, blog posts, code sample, workshops, presentations…). They meet Builders where they are (in-person, virtually, at every steps of their journey).
Developer Advocates represent Builders internally within the Service Teams and act as the voice of the community internally. They identify gaps in our products, services and documentations. They drive feedback gathering from users for product development teams to review and act upon. They have an impact on product roadmaps.

DA Specialists work both externally with the technical community to drive adoption of AWS solutions and internally with Service Teams to build better products and features.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of hands-on technical experience

5+ years of experience as a .NET developer or active member of the .NET community

2+ years of experience in presenting technical topics

4+ years in a customer facing role

Cloud-native architecture (AWS, Containers, Serverless…) with background in Software Development, Architecture or Operations (SRE, DevOps)

Full-Stack Development with expertise in .NET

On-premises to Cloud migrations or critical IT transformations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experienced in customer-facing or developer community facing roles

Industry influence and/or recognition in technology publications

Demonstrable following in social and technical channels such as Twitter, YouTube, GitHub, or Twitch

Ability to translate technical features into tangible customer business benefits

A history of successful speaking engagements,
Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role

Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

Willingness to travel (up to 20%)

The base pay range for this position in New York City is $148,700 – 201,200/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. The base pay range for this position in Colorado is $135,200 – 182,900/yr. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. The pay range for this position in Jersey City is $135,200 – 182,900/yr.; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Pay Transparency Regulation of Jersey City Municipal Code. Base pay information is based on market location.
