What Is Employee Growth Rate & Why Is It Important?

The Director of Manufacturing, Talent Acquisition provides operational leadership and talent acquisition expertise that drives service excellence within several Edwards Lifesciences’ manufacturing plants globally. This role takes immediate action to enable a best-in-class employee experience through subject matter expertise, consultation, and service delivery for TA. This role works directly with senior leaders, employees, and the HRBP function to meet human resources needs and provides inputs to program design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead broad and complex strategies for pipelines and talent acquisition initiatives which may include negotiations with internal and external parties
  • Plan and direct complex activities with large scale or significant business impact with the accountability for successful completion of all deliverables. Lead in identifying risk, developing mitigation strategies, alternative solutions, resolving issues, etc. in collaboration with cross functional and/or matrix teams
  • Develop relationships and leverage them to influence change, build open environments of professional safety, excellence, consultancy and calculated risk taking
  • Provide consultative support to develop and help others manage talent acquisition budget including making recommendations on investments and ensure funds are utilized strategically and meet project deliverables
  • Lead multiple project teams and cross functional initiatives
  • Provide consultative support to help others manage and select talent acquisition vendors, ensure vendor performance and maximize investment; Proactively address vendor issues
  • Establish key relationships with internal and external stakeholders including multiple functional areas and/or geographies
  • Evaluate and lead implementation of process optimization
  • Represents leadership on projects within multiple areas, interfacing with project managers, talent acquisition team, and middle management
  • Interface and network with external experts to understand the market and emerging tools, trends and opportunities
  • Other incidental duties

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and 12 years experience of previous related talent acquisition programs experience or Master’s Degree in related field and 10 years experience of previous related talent acquisition programs experience required
  • Experience with talent acquisition within a large scale manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership and negotiating skills and ability to influence and implement change
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with the ability to drive the achievement of objectives
  • Must have a strong yet deliberate bias for action and the ability to work at the fast pace of a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in medical device, pharma, biotech, or other highly regulated industries
  • Recent experience leading and influencing high volume recruiting projects and initiatives with single site volume greater than 500 hires/year across multiple counties and regions
  • Demonstrated potential/ability to manage one or more teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations
  • Demonstrated strength and experience with a wide variety of Talent Acquisition Systems and Tools including CRM, ATS, Sourcing Platforms, Labor Market Intelligence, and Skills Assessment among others
  • Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of talent acquisition to the business
  • Fluency with data, intelligence and systems along with a comfort with integrating that data and intelligence to diagnose root causes, inform tactical and strategic decision making, educate others and tell the story of success and opportunities
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Consult in project setting within multiple talent acquisition areas, interfacing with low to middle management
  • Provides talent acquisition leadership to outsourcing partners on a task level, participates on small-scale RFP
