The Commerce division of Code3, formally known as the Cleveland-founded company, Marketplace Strategy, was acquired by Code3 in 2018. Marketplace Strategy now operates as the commerce team within Code3. Digital marketing has evolved creating a need for brands to showcase media, creative, and commerce expertise across all major platforms. This progression is largely due to changes in shopping behavior. To help our clients serve the needs of today’s consumers, our offering has evolved, too.


The Ecommerce Display Media Strategist role is focused on a blend of campaign management and reporting, client and platform partner relationships, and cross-team collaboration. This role reports directly to the DSP Team Lead and operates in the DSP team with 11 other people. This position is on our Marketplace Strategy team which focuses on digital marketing through online marketplaces, including Amazon, Walmart, Jet, and others.


  • Develop strategies based on client’s objectives, goals, and product mix
  • Hybrid role splitting time between reporting/analysis/client communication (50%) and creating campaigns, optimizations, budget management, etc. (50%)
  • Build, launch, and QA display and video campaigns within Amazon’s DSP and emerging retail media platforms with a focus on flawless execution
  • Monitor, track, and evaluate campaign analytics based on client KPI targets
  • Optimize campaigns to meet and exceed client goals
  • Create client reports, verify data accuracy, provide analysis and keep clients updated on the status of their accounts
  • Work closely with the account team, including account management and paid search counterparts to develop holistic strategies
  • Collaborate with platform partners to understand opportunities and best practices, and provide platform feedback as needed
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices, focusing on how changes can help improve offerings to accounts
  • Think creatively and develop tools and innovative tactics to improve efficiencies and/or advance the practice
  • Ability to provide support to other team members on other accounts
  • Ability to add value above and beyond tactical execution
  • Periodically aid in creation of new business presentations
  • May mentor others in the team; helps new hires/interns ramp up
  • Active in client and internal meetings


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Basic understanding of programmatic advertising or digital marketing as a whole
  • Experience in Excel
  • Ability to think analytically and mathematically with basic data
  • Excellent verbal and written communications with strong attention to detail


  • General understanding of Amazon and ecommerce
  • Experience with and knowledge of Amazon DSP, both link-in and link-out video and display campaigns
  • Experience with QAing video and display campaigns
  • Knowledge of Vendor Central, Seller Central, and Amazon Advertising as a whole, including Sponsored Ads preferred
  • Receptive to feedback from colleagues, and is able to take and absorb critical feedback
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
