Code for America is looking for a talented individual to support our marketing and communications team in planning and executing events.

About the Role:xa0

As an Events Coordinator, at Code for America, you will report directly to the Associate Director of Events and Experiences. This will be a remote position with required travelling. In this role you will work closely with the Associate Director in the planning and execution of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events. If you have exceptional organizational skills and enjoy planning impactful events, we would love to have you join our team as an Events Coordinator. In collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team, you will help coordinate all of our events to create flawless experiences for our audiences.xa0

In this position you will:xa0

The Events Coordinator will be responsible for providing support in every aspect of the event planning process including but not limited to:

  • Day-to-day administration of events including researching vendors, placing event orders, travel planning, venue outreach, speaker outreach, facilitating staff attendees, working with cross-functional teams, etc.
  • Engage with various vendors as needed across all functions of an event (registration, set-up, catering, audio visual, tech platform, etc.)
  • Create and manage an organizational-wide events calendarxa0
  • Create online event registration pages, monitor RSVP’s and analyze registrant data
  • Collaborate with graphic and web designers on any printed and digital materials
  • Work with sponsorship manager to ensure successful execution of sponsor deliverables
  • Create a sense of urgency in regards to important deadlines and key deliverables
  • Identify volunteers and create staffing plan for large scale eventsxa0
  • Draft post-event recaps, reporting and share out
  • Other duties as assigned based on the scope of the project

The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate:

  • Connection or passion for creating community in various formsxa0
  • Proven experience in event planning or coordination with a successful track record
  • Strong organizational skills, project management, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail
  • Thrive in a fast paced, ever changing workxa0 environment
  • Skilled communication with strong interpersonal skillsxa0
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a member of a distributed team
  • Ability to anticipate issues and provide solutions
  • Knowledge of Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Travel required

  • Compensation: Code for America’s salary bands are transparent internally as a part of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are happy to extend this transparency during the recruitment process. As a part of our equitable hiring practices, we aim to target the midpoint of the 2nd quartile of the range for all new hires. The targets for this role are dependent on the market/geographic location. The targets for this role range from ($54,251 to $66,413).xa0
