How you’ll make an impact
 
Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer of Xero, the EGM, Connected Workplaces will lead the Connected Workplaces strategy to deliver a marketable, commercially viable product with seamless experiences that helps build better workplaces for both employers and employees. Leading a cross-functional team of Product (DR), Design, Research, Architecture, Programme (DR) and Product Marketing, the EGM will design and own the Connected Workplaces vision and end-to-end customer journeys across the 4 key geographies, working closely with regional Payroll teams. This role will drive alignment across both Payroll and Employee Platform & Experience EGMs and teams to ensure that the technical building blocks required to deliver on the Connected Workplaces vision are prioritised and sequenced for maximum impact, including how new propositions are integrated. The EGM will work closely with regional Customer and GTM teams and across Xero to achieve customer and platform growth objectives. 
 
In this role you will provide strategic, commercial, and technical oversight across the relevant product groups to ensure alignment with overall Xero strategy and customer requirements to drive the execution of key projects, owning the communication with stakeholders around the globe, and building empathy for and understanding of Connected Workplaces users, customers, and markets.

What you’ll do
 
Strategic Leadership – work closely with your team and the Growth, Product and Technology leadership teams to set and lead a clear vision and strategy for your teams that aligns with the corporate strategy. Ensure we deliver a market leading product offering
People Leadership – coach and lead a team of leaders to be a high performing and highly engaged cohesive senior leadership team. Role model exemplary leadership and ensure your direct reports have the opportunity to grow and develop
Board Engagement – as a member of the Planday Board actively steer progress towards strategic goals and objectives
Xero Evangelism – you will act as a senior ambassador, thought-leader and champion for Xero. Representing Xero in external events, in the media and through online publications
Operational Excellence – ensure your leadership team and the broader Connected Workplaces function delivers against financial, people and data integrity objectives
Product and Service Delivery – Work closely with Product and Technology leadership to ensure teams have what they need to deliver high-quality products and services; and great customer experiences
Change Management – help to lead change in the way our teams work
Portfolio Management – develop our ability to understand and make decisions at a portfolio level
Continuous Improvement – lead efforts to identify strategic impediments to the effective operation of the Connected Workplaces function and the delivery of customer value. Work with the Connected Workplaces leadership team to understand and overcome these impediments
Learning and Curiosity – demonstrate curiosity and growth mindset by staying tuned in to the latest thinking. Drive experiments to evaluate these ideas when they show promise. 
 
What you’ll bring with you
 
Experience
• Previous experience at an Executive or senior GM level within SaaS or software development environment
• Experience with  coaching and managing a number of GM level people across different disciplines
• Experience in setting and executing on global strategy
• Budget and financial management

• Strong skills managing strategy, business delivery, financial planning and building high performing diverse teams
• Successfully builds trust and credibility with stakeholders and working relationships across all levels of the business
• Strong people leadership and management skills at a global level
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute meaningful and accurate advice
• Systems thinking and can put solutions in place at scale
• Takes #ownership of problems and executes a pragmatic and collaborative approach to their resolve
• Deep understanding of effective operation of business processes, like budgeting, headcount management etc
