Description

This is an exciting opportunity to build a new function within Stephenson Law. The candidate will lead on a range of sales initiatives by supporting our lawyers to win and retain clients.

You will report to our Chief Commercial Officer and work alongside the marketing team to build a robust and scalable commercial function within the business.

Key tasks include:

  • Creating and executing a market-leading sales strategy and working collaboratively with the marketing and legal teams to provide a seamless go to market strategy.
  • Implementing clear sales strategies for each of our legal specialisms, packages and subscriptions.
  • Building a sales capability that operates with a culture focused on client-centricity and our clients’ issues, ensuring we are operating with a commercial mindset and a consistent level of quality and excellence in all we do.
  • Managing our pipeline, including managing inbound leads and nurturing and converting marketing qualified leads into business
  • Proactively introducing ideas to improve new and existing client relationships
  • Facilitating legal teams to cross sell to one another
  • Maintaining our business development infrastructure and a data-driven approach: This includes maintaining a clear CRM (HubSpot), up-to-date pitch content, credentials database
  • Building and managing a high-performing sales team as our business grows
  • Sustaining an advanced knowledge of our industry and target clients, their key drivers and expected trends and a view of the key stakeholders within our client portfolio.
  • Role modelling best practice sales behaviours to everyone in the firm and providing sales coaching and support where necessary.
  • Contributing to the wider senior leadership team, aligning common activity and strategic issues with other teams in the business.
  • Maintaining appropriate governance and risk management in relation to our sales activity.

You are an entrepreneurial sales professional who is passionate about disrupting the status quo within the legal and sales industry. We want someone who is friendly, creative and committed to driving our business forward, pitching in where help is needed within the department. You won’t be afraid to put your ideas forward and come up with solutions to problems that may arise.

You will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Client-focused with strong relationship skills.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales and client relationship management (ideally within a professional services environment).
  • An expert understanding of sales enablement programmes and sales support plus an understanding of targeting and opportunity management with the ability to implement both strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Accomplished sales trainer and coach
  • Strong people management and development skills with experience of managing and developing teams.
  • Team player; able to actively contribute and participate as a member of the Commercial and Senior Leadership teams
  • Able to form networks with staff at all levels and influence effectively.
  • A sound business understanding as well as being commercially and risk aware.
  • Excellent influencing and powerful communication skills.
  • Proactive, with a positive ‘can do’ approach.
  • Self-starter able to work effectively as part of a remote team.
