As an Internal Communications Specialist at Guru, you’ll support the team building internal communications directly by helping foster a knowledge-driven culture, and ensuring our distributed teams are connected, engaged, and informed.
In this role, you’ll not only craft thoughtful communication channels for our team, but build an infrastructure that scales with our company and our product as we grow. You’ll require empathy and curiosity, all while living the Learn and Grow value and demonstrating an experimental mentality. Beyond supporting fast-paced change management and employee engagement, we’ll be asking you to push the boundaries of what’s possible with our product.
You will report into the product marketing team, and not only help streamline internal communications at Guru, but help evangelize our product for this use case. This role will have high visibility and collaboration with the People Team and every organization across the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish processes that build a culture of shared and inclusive knowledge for employee engagement
- Curate, distribute, and coordinate our bi-weekly “Knewsletters,” including both the Go-to-market and People Operations content
- Closely partner with People Operations to craft the effective execution of company-wide communications that foster the employee experience
- Support the creation and execution of company-wide events (i.e. Company Kick-Off, Town Halls) so that they align with our brand and are consistent with our company culture
- Project manage and establish comms processes for the workplace strategy and return to work plans
- Manage internal comms working groups and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to execute that strategy and measure the efficacy of those programs
- Establish inclusive writing guidelines based on company standard methodologies and develop the team to ensure they are achieving or surpassing them
- Support and scale our internal Guru instance, equipping our internal teams with the knowledge they need to be successful
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in internal communications, with a deep understanding of knowledge management processes and principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to sell ideas well through creative & innovative digital content
- Exceptional project management skills, both with internal and external partners
- Superior organizational skills; capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ambitious; goal-oriented; naturally curious, fast learner; obsessively detail-oriented
- Understanding of adult learning and development concepts is a plus
