About the Role:

We are looking for a Lead or Manager for our Data Analytics/Science team. You will work closely with Product teams, Engineering leadership, and the rest of the data team to shape the future of data analytics and data science at Platform Science!

You have proven experience stewarding organizations towards a more data-informed culture and process. You are comfortable in the technical weeds; whether that be data models, SQL queries, or complex visualizations. You have demonstrated experience mentoring and managing process iteration and you have a constant drive towards improvement. You help others make data-informed decisions through excellent written and verbal communication skills. You effectively communicate technical findings to a varied business audience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with stakeholders to prioritize the backlog and iterate on the analytics and data science roadmap
  • Mentor team members both technically and professionally
  • Continue to aggressively scale the team in order to fulfill company wide analytical needs
  • Leverage our modern data stack (dbt, Snowflake, Tableau/Looker) in order to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to enable business-critical decisions
  • Work closely with our product and engineering teams to define, build, and analyze meaningful KPIs for our applications and systems
  • Be a driving force for continuous process improvement

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience as a data analyst 
  • 3+ years of experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Domo, Quicksight, etc
  • 2+ years of experience leading or managing analytics teams, including project and agility management
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust while acting as a servant leader
  • Ability to take vague requests and transform them into concise deliverables
  • Advanced SQL skills including multiple-table joins, unions, sub-queries, CTE, aggregations, temporary tables, and analytical functions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, across all job functions, both verbal and written
  • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or equivalent experience

What Would Be Great:

  • Track record of rapidly scaling team and processes 
  • Experience with Data Build Tool (dbt)
  • Advanced knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Python, numpy, pandas, R, Excel, etc.)
