Job Description
As the Merchandising Manager IQP you will prepare RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and evaluate supplier proposals (including cost analysis and sample review). Engage cross-functionally across the organization to drive results and resolve issues encountered by the team including the ability to assess and course-correct as necessary.
Responsibilities will include:
– Independently design and conduct complex analyses (e.g. addressing multiple, interconnected issues or elements) using many different types of information (customer, competitor, economics, etc.)
– Distill insights into potential sourcing, merchandising and category opportunities
– Articulate conclusions and recommendations to the leadership team and category management
– Prepare material and presentations in a way that can be easily understood by others who may not have the same background or expertise
– Partner with other groups on analysis including finance, inventory, legal, joint venture partners, and manufacture partners (e.g., major CPGs) involved in the sourcing process
– Establish savings tracking methodology and report realized savings on a continuous base. Ensure realized savings ties back to projected budget / goal.
– Willingness to travel 5% – 10%
Required Qualifications
3-5 year’s minimum relevant experience in a retail / reseller organization; or in an analytical, sourcing, merchandising, or buying position

Preferred Qualifications
– Excel, Access and Tableau knowledge
– 1 year or more of consulting or related analytical experience a plus
– Ability to construct complex models to analyze information (primarily in Excel)
– Superior analytical skills, quantitative skills and problem solving skills including competency with statistics
– Experience working with large data sets
– -Past experience working with OTC healthcare products
– Ability to explain analysis through PowerPoint (e.g., tell the story)
– Keen ability to distill complex ideas into simpler frameworks and illustrations
– High level of independent judgment and initiative required
– Highest level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adjusting to priorities as needed and meeting deadlines
