What Is Employee Growth Rate & Why Is It Important?

Hi! We are Wildlabs (https://wildlabs.co), a design and technology studio based in Auckland, New Zealand. We are a team of 8, some of us are based in Auckland, some are remote.

We are looking for a frontend developer with at least 3 years of commercial experience, ideally in web agency/studio environment.

Our focus:

  • custom design-oriented websites mainly based on Laravel / Statamic / Vue / Nuxt / Jamstack
  • custom e-commerce websites mainly based on Shopify
We don’t work with off the shelf themes and site-builders, big proponents of clean code and modern tech.

Ideal candidate will:

  • work closely with our talented designers and bring Figma-based designs to life with high attention to detail
  • have backend experience enough to integrate frontend with Laravel/Statamic CMS
  • have experience with Vue and Nuxt, but based on strong knowledge of vanilla JS
  • have experience with Shopify custom themes and apps integrations
  • have good base knowledge of semantic HTML, accessibility best practices
  • know accessibility, performance and cross-browser/cross-device best practices
  • know modern CSS and pre-processors, BEM methodology
  • have knowledge of SEO technical best-practices (Open Graph, JSONLD etc)
  • strive to improve, learn and write clean and reusable code
  • work in a team, will not disappear randomly (important with remote roles)
  • overlap with our NZT +12 timezone for at least 3-4 normal office hours every working day
Bonus points:
  • WebGL/animation platforms (gsap or similar)
  • PHP and Laravel in advanced capacity
  • basic DevOps skills (AWS services)

Overseas candidates will be considered full-time contractors by New Zealand law.
