Process Owner: Billing, Payments & Localization (US Remote)
As a Process Owner in the Digital Transformation Office the successful candidate will be excited about the opportunity to disrupt the industry and transform the business. The Process Owner represents the interests of the internal and external customer. The successful candidate will have key skills in both eliciting and translating customer feedback into functional capabilities and solutions which align with the overall strategy. S/He helps translate the business strategy to operational process design and will have the ability to be decisive in making decisions and communicating them after evaluating appropriate information.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be comfortable presenting in front of large groups. S/He must be able to learn new software and other technology quickly, and must have excellent organizational, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. S/He will have some experience in teaching or training other users, and be able to translate technical content to non-technical users. Finally, a good Process Owner is an open-minded, inquisitive individual who likes to work in a team, but who also has the ability to work independently in a self-directed environment.
Responsibilities:
- Translate business strategic requirements into functional design
- Conduit between business strategy/workstreams & technical/delivery teams (aligns business & development).
- Collaborate with other Process Owners, Sector Leads, and Leadership to align on future process capabilities/enhancements in the formation of a roadmap.
- Provides knowledge, guidance, and industry best practices towards solution design on the platform
- Engage with customer experience teams, stakeholders, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to understand workflows, extrapolate requirements.
- Drive customer Invoice templates, Bill cycles, consolidation, accounting, payment processing, etc
- Identifies process gaps and drive key design decisions around those with involvement from stakeholders and product delivery groups
- Drive legal entity flows requirements which include currency, statutory, legal requirements. indirect Tax requirements.
- Drive the localization requirements
- Drive the breakdown of large solution requirements into an executable backlog.
- Work with appropriate stakeholders to ensure cross functional teams are aligned and prepared for process release.
- Set the structure and user story framework (epics, features, high level stories). Provide user story acceptance criteria
- Maintain process documentation and decision logs.
- Makes tough calls on scope and content, adhering to the global playbook standards
- Responsible for the health and prioritization of the process backlog based on business priorities, events and dependencies with other teams.
- Work closely with the delivery team to design and release new product features and capabilities (member of the agile delivery team).
- Communicate priority and process delivery goals to ensure alignment with Leadership.
- Actively Participates in delivery team meetings and be available to answer team questions.
- Coordinates with other Process Owners, delivery teams, and shared services to ensure delivery success.
- Provide support to other Trimble staff on process details.
- Support and generate release materials as necessary.
- Participate in industry trade associations, technical working groups, seminars, etc.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in Finance including understanding of the following processes: Billing processes, invoice accounting, payments, regional localization and legal entity and tax flows
- Should understand dependencies from fulfillment & Provisioning
- Should understand dependencies and impacts to accounting, collections, and Revenue
- Experience working on enterprise ERP systems
- Good understanding of business models/processes like Subscription, Perpetual(HW/SW), Term Licensing
- Experience defining systems strategy, road-map, developing process flow diagrams, developing systems requirements, designing and implementing practical business solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in management, computer science, or engineering.
- Experience with Salesforce platform for products( Billing, Sales/Revenue Cloud) or Oracle ERP applications
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- Experience, or at least understanding, of agile.
