About You
You love to build things. You enjoy explaining across functional audiences why your team is doing what it is doing. When there are competing visions, you are able to align and motivate the team to focus on one. You can get people to agree to disagree and commit, perhaps including yourself. You are good at building processes that help teams execute on a vision. Data analysis is one of your key instruments: you measure how product changes impact usage, customer satisfaction and the company’s growth. Customer input defines what you plan and how you plan it. Conversations with product users provide you with inspiration and motivation. You are a researcher, a leader and a coordinator. You are a product person.
About the Opportunity
The built environment (infrastructure, buildings and utilities) will receive significant upgrades in the coming years. At Assignar, we help the companies who perform the incredible amount of construction work that is required for these initiatives by providing a platform for the planning and optimization of their operations. Assignar’s data-driven technology makes our customers’ construction work more efficient and more profitable. If you share our passion for building things and are a product person, you should definitely consider joining our team!
We are looking for a product manager who can drive the planning, execution and delivery of a set of modules in Assignar’s cloud-based solution for construction operations management. You will join a diverse team of experienced product, UX and data professionals who are located in Sydney and Denver. While we do have offices in both locations, our team operates as “remote-first”. Our customers are in North America and Australia/New Zealand. Assignar’s engineering activities are concentrated in Australia. Through modern, easy-to-use browser and mobile applications, Assignar helps customers with the management of workers and equipment. You will join our team to help us with understanding industry processes and challenges in order to optimize the support we offer through our products and to help grow our customer base.
About the Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Connect with our customers. Work closely with existing users and people active in the domain to understand their needs and to solve their problems.
- Create clarity around strategy. Ensure that internal teams fully understand the rationale behind our plans and prioritization. We get buy-in from all relevant stakeholders through clear narratives and presentations. Nurture ideas from their infancy to detailed requirements, all through the lens of a well defined product vision.
- Use data. Understand current performance and define targets using metrics. Goals and benefits are part of the definition of initiatives and success or failure is determined based on numbers.
- Build and ship experiences. Plan, develop and deliver packages of functionality, documentation, marketing and sales tools. Prioritize the roadmap through the lens of your product vision. Release new features, fixes and enhancements continuously and summarize them monthly through marketing communications.
- Assist sales initiatives. Help grow Assignar’s revenue through expert input and thought leadership. Deliver support by means of presentation materials, participation in meetings and post-sales follow up on product requirements.
