Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite monthly.

As an experienced leader in Mobility & Cloud Industry, the successful candidate will work as a Technology Business owner for 5G, Cloud, EDGE, Network Access and IOT Core functions, to prime the commercial and business contracts while helping launch new products and making significant improvements to existing connected services.

You will be responsible for devising and executing GM Connected Services business plan for 4G, 5G and Edge Compute application, while working directly with cellular connectivity providers and edge compute application hosting services. This will also require GM internal cross functional engagements with vehicle engineering, business development, vehicle telematics, system engineering and product marketing to plan a clear business strategy, define 5G product roadmaps, manage connectivity commercial contracts, and make intelligent & high-judgment decisions between 4G/5G/EC/CSA features for time-to-market. (CSA: Cloud Service Application, EC: Edge Computing).

As business responsible for Vehicle Mobility Control Functions, you will help realize GM vision of Zero Crashes Zero Emission & Zero Congestion, through execution of a comprehensive integrated product lifecycle.

The responsibilities will also include direct working relationships and engagement with GM evolving domains (Autonomous Driving, Electric Vehicles, Future Delivery Services, Software Vehicle, Safety Services etc.) to define connectivity industry standards, SLA and KPI.

You will draw on your leadership skills & technical acumen to help internal and external stakeholders to further improve and build on GM connected services & global business portfolio.

You will regularly engage with diverse stakeholder groups, including executives of large enterprises, and cross-functional and geographically dispersed team within/outside of GM to help formulate business requirements, product scope & technology plans to further accelerate the connected vehicles journey.

Job Responsibilities :

  • 5-8 years of product experience with technology company in O/BSS, 4G-LTE Core & Access, 5G Enterprise IOT Core, 5G Access, Mobile Edge Compute (MEC) and Mobility Network Convergence.
  • 2-3 years of commercial experience as Cellular Service Provider for Enterprise IOT Business and cloud consultative selling.
  • Direct working experience as product owner in 4G/5G and emerging wireless technologies while having strong relationships with telecom carriers, mobility vendors and IOT ecosystem suppliers.
  • Proven business transformation experience as a strategic consultant in a technology advisory role.
  • Product Experience to evaluate industry innovations and technology platforms and identify business partnerships and collaboration opportunities to accelerate and or address gaps in connected product portfolio.
  • Product leadership experience as a specialist in Wireless industry for revenue growth, process efficiency, cost savings, technology transformation and business process innovation.
  • Consistent track record to successfully structuring and leading business engagements with internal and external stakeholders in achieving desired results, delivering hard dollar savings while meeting or exceeding business expectations.
  • Fully understand and adapt to complex business environment and cross functional collaboration.
  • Product Lifecycle experience to create Business Cases, Business Plans and Commercial Product models.
  • Open for travel up to 25 – 30%

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Electronics, Computer Sciences or equivalent
  • Business degree or Certifications will be an added advantage
  • Experience working in a global team
  • Existing experience with the Cellular Services Provider is a plus
