Steno’s Engineering team is looking for our first QA Engineer to join! If you’re enthusiastic about an engineering culture with a spirit of continuous improvement in all aspects of building products – come join us!
Who are you?
- You love solving problems and collaborating with others to solve those problems
- You’ve become familiar with the downsides of both under-engineering and over-engineering, and developed an appreciation for working pragmatically
- You seek clarity, and as much simplicity as the underlying problem domain will allow
- You realize the real project work happens when the last 20% is being completed – the handling of edge cases, errors, and interesting scenarios is where the real magic happens
On a regular basis, you’ll be:
- Developing automated end-to-end tests across our full product suite
- Investigating product quality in order to make improvements to achieve better customer satisfaction
- Triaging bug reports and working to reproduce those bugs
- Planning, developing and managing the overall QA strategy
- Identifying quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest (and implement) actions for improvement
- Overseeing continuous improvement projects

You’re gonna crush it if:
- You’ve got 3+ years of QA experience
- You’ve got a proven track record of developing and implementing QA processes, technologies, and developing automated testing
- You’ve got experience with a variety of different testing techniques and when to apply those different techniques
- You are a self-starter with effective time management in remote working environments and you are comfortable working in a fast paced environment; a “can-do” attitude is a must!
- You have the desire to work with a fast-paced and quickly growing tech start-up and you are enthusiastic about the opportunity for growth within the company (Bonus points if you have start up experience!)
- Bonus points if you are in Austin, TX or another state where we are growing (Florida and New York)

Steno was founded in Los Angeles in 2018. We are a quickly growing legal technology startup with a very simple core purpose – “to improve the litigation process.” Our team is highly reliable, constantly innovative, and operates with a hospitality mindset in every single way.
