Working at Atlassian
Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
With a sufficient timezone overlap with the team, we’re able to hire eligible candidates for this role from any location in Australia and New Zealand. If this sparks your interest, apply today and chat with our friendly Recruitment team.
We are looking for a dynamic Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Product and R&D teams. You will report to the Lead HR Business Partner. Atlassian is growing fast and you will partner with our main product and transformation areas to help deliver their people strategy while providing best-in-class HR services, as we aim to grow to 25,000 employees soon.
You are strategic and adaptable. You will guide people decisions according to changing needs. Being a TEAM company, we pride ourselves on collaboration and execution. As a sounding board to the leader and leadership team that you partner with, you can easily identify and help manage cross-team partners. Your success will be facilitated by establishing partnership with the COE teams, to deliver outcomes to the business. You have deep HR craft knowledge, with impact in a fast scaling environment.
What you’ll do:
- Provide strategic HR Partnership with the reporting leaders’ and Atlassian’s priorities.
- Partner with regional HRBPs, Centre of Excellence (COE) Partners, Strategy and Operations partners to achieve talent strategy and operational plans.
- Participate and support the creation and implementation of people programs, strategies and plans in consideration of your functions priorities.
- Coach senior leadership through organisational issues, talent strategies, and leadership development.
- Analyse people reports, dashboards and datasets to make quality, data-driven talent recommendations and decisions.
- Lead the operationalisation efforts with your manager population to embed changes (eg. reset rituals, refine team goals, re-participate in 1:1s).
- Support Business leaders in implementing talent management programs across the hire-to-retire cycle (e.g. hiring, developing).
- Monitor the workforce plan throughout the year, reporting back to leaders through a quarterly business review (QBR).
We’ll expect you to have:
- 10+ years HR experience with challenging responsibilities as a strategic partner working with global teams.
- Experience partnering with senior leadership teams and partners to develop a culture of innovation and openness.
- Collaborative approach across leadership teams and partners.
- Have an iterative approach and willingness to jump from strategy to development to change management to grow programs aimed at driving outcomes.
- Excellent business storytelling skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to translate “HR speak” and data insights into an accessible, influential narrative.
- Business-first mindset with an ability to work at multiple levels of the HR stack; focused on strategic impact while being comfortable driving programs linked to clear outcomes.
