We have an office in Bengaluru but as we continue to expand our footprint in India, we can hire eligible candidates remotely anywhere in India.

Role Description

We are seeking an industry-recognized technical leader to join Atlassian as a Sr. Architect. In this role, you will be a technical visionary for products that are revolutionising the Dev+IT industry and helping teams collaborate efficiently.

– The primary focus of your role will be to drive the broad technical strategy of our products and architecture over a multi-year horizon. You should be a proven thought leader with the ability to translate loosely defined, yet critical ideas into a well-defined architectural vision that can be aligned with the technical and product leaders across Atlassian.

-You will raise the bar, though example, on the quality of software construction in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will use your deep technical skills to help guide and mentor other developers, product managers, and senior managers, ensuring the team understands the vision, and help realize that vision.

-You will also be required to deeply understand technology landscapes, evaluate the use of new technologies, and effectively review and communicate as required.

-You will be influential within your team and work with peers and senior leaders to define and revise the standards for operational excellence across Atlassian.

-You will consistently tackle abstract issues that span multiple functional areas and drive your team to push for improvements that can scale across other teams, services, and platforms.

This role reports to the Head of Engineering for the IT Operations business who is in India.

On your first day we’ll expect you to have:

-BS degree in Computer Science, Graduate degree preferred.

-At least 15 years of experience in a variety of hands-on software/technology leadership roles, preferably in Enterprise Products & Solutions

-At least 6 years leading multiple features of a SaaS product at high scale, performance and reliability of at least 4 nines.

-Deep understanding & proven experience of the various dimensions of building and delivering cloud native software into enterprises

-Strong experience with at least one public cloud system, ideally AWS

-Well-versed in challenges of distributed systems, modern cloud native architectures and front-end applications.

Duties

-As a Sr. Principal Architect in our IT Solutions Engineering, you will be responsible for shaping the forward-looking technical direction for the entire product surface.

-You will work closely with the IT Solutions leadership in engineering, product, and design, on all features and operational aspects of our products with responsibility for the technical roadmap.

-You will be a role model for, and influence a large team of engineers (400+) at various seniority levels all the way from new college grads to principal engineers, and coach/mentor engineers across the various teams.

-As a member of the cross-company cloud technical architecture group, you will propose and review architectures and designs for the solution and cross-cutting software capabilities. You will also help define and drive requirements from the platform teams for our ITSM products.

-You will periodically present technical direction to the CTO, the CTO Leadership Team (CLT), and the IT Solutions triad, consisting of senior executives in the company.
