Software Engineering Team Lead, FinTech – Role:

We are seeking a technically strong leader for our financial domain. You will be working with Product Managers to deliver high availability, compliant, financial products. You will also work with various stakeholders to deliver API services through the API gateway. Deliver quality through technical goal clarification, supporting developers, working with stakeholders across business units, and being hands-on in order to get the team across the finish line.

Someone who helps remove obstacles and avoids being a bottleneck.

We have multiple integrations with financial systems within our FinTech domain. This includes Netsuite, Stripe, PayPal, and others. Security, PCI compliance, and high availability are our top priority. Our Spend product is built using Python and Flask, and is being converted into sets of APIs and a decoupled UI. All new products are built using NodeJS, GraphQL, and VueJS on the frontend.  Our services are built using NodeJS, integrating the APIs through an API gateway. We take advantage of GraphQL to federate across multiple services.

 

Software Engineering Team Lead – Responsibilities:

  • Work within our FinTech domain, helping teams build products and supporting services
  • Work closely with product managers to plan out upcoming projects
  • Provide clarity to the team through technical goal setting and support
  • Prioritize security, compliance, high availability, quality, and continuous monitoring
  • Help hire top quality talent
  • Provide progress clarity and KPI metrics to upper management
  • Experiment with new ideas and technologies
  • Grow Junior Developers
  • Work closely with the teams to make sure they have all that they need to be successful
  • Work on deliverables to meet commitments

 

Software Engineering Team Lead, FinTech – Qualifications:

  • 2+ years technical lead experience (management experience also okay)
  • 5+ years individual contributor experience or more across the full stack, preferably utilizing NodeJS
  • Experience developing high availability, PCI compliant, financial software
  • Clear understanding of integrations, and distributed system architectures vs monoliths
  • Experience in full cycle development – building, delivering, maintaining
  • Experience with various monitoring tools and how to use the data to make improvements
  • Continuous Delivery experience and deployment techniques such as blue/green releases, canary releases, etc
  • Expert knowledge of Git, and Git best practices

  • This role pays between $130k and $160k annually (depending on capability and experience)
